David Williams only signed for Sydney for the ACL.

I hold out hope we can sign him still. :)

Anyone know what the go is with Adam D'Apuzzo? I heard maybe Sydney FC?

I would love him at Heart as an upgrade on Behich the headless chicken.

Bolton
Marrone, Colosimo, Beachamp, D'Apuzzo
I like it!

Melbourne Heart are also courting Roar striker Jean Carlos Solorzano.

Word is that Solorzano's club (I can't remember the name, but he was at loan at the Roar) is willing to sell to the highest bidder, and with the Roar strapped for cash, I'd expect him to join the Heart.

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/news/1049263/Glory-days-ahead-for-Smeltz

The World Game can reveal Perth Glory’s protracted courtship of New Zealand international Shane Smeltz has finally been consummated with the two-time A-League Golden Boot agreeing a three-year deal worth an estimated $1.2 million.

Glory’s new overseas marquee will fill the void vacated by the departure of ageing marksman Robbie Fowler, at roughly half the price – but still at a salary that makes him one of the A-League’s highest earners.

Also in the article:

Smeltz’s decision to head west, after coming off contract at Gold Coast United, further depletes a club that is also set to lose his strike partner Bruce Djite, with Adelaide United close to securing his signature in the face of competition from Melbourne Heart and Sydney FC.

Adelaide United coach Rini Coolen confirmed the club’s interest in former son Djite, who made his senior football breakthrough at the Reds before signing for Turkish Super Lig outfit Genclerberligi in 2008.

After failing to make an impact there, the 23-year-old returned to the A-league with United last season, scoring 10 goals in 23 appearances. “Bruce is a fantastic young player and he’s definitely one we’re looking at closely, along with a couple of others,” said the Dutchman.

John Curtis and Anderson have also left GCU.

Also look up at the OP, Amini hasn't been released from the Mariners, just he is off trialling.

Gold Coast have won the Youth League for the past two seasons and have decided to give them a go. Fair enough imo and with the crowds they get there is no point in them spending money on marquee type players and wages.

Football Operations Manager John Didulica confirms Solerzano intrests + some other transfer news.

MELBOURNE Heart is poised to make an audacious bid to snatch the man whose goals powered Brisbane Roar to the A-League title as the league new boy looks to fill the huge shoes of retired Socceroo John Aloisi.

Heart has written to the Roar seeking permission to talk to Jean Carlos Solorzano, the Costa Rican striker who played a key role in delivering the Queenslanders their first championship.

Solorzano, 23, is on loan from Costa Rican club LD Alajuelense - the club for which Melbourne Victory star Carlos Hernandez played - and becomes available at the end of this month when his one-year loan deal expires.

Should Heart succeed in its pursuit of a man who scored 11 goals in 25 appearances for Brisbane, it would be a feather in the new club's cap. But it would not be a straightforward process as it would have to negotiate a deal acceptable not only to Solorzano but also to his Costa Rican employer.

Alajuelense might be happy enough to extend his loan, but would want to benefit from any transfer windfall if he was subsequently sold.

If Heart wants to own Solorzano outright, it would have to do as Victory did when Hernandez's loan period came to an end and buy the player at market rates.

''He is a goal scorer, a penalty-box player who has shown he can perform in this league,'' Heart football manager John Didulica said.

''We are missing a lot of experience with the loss of not just John Aloisi but also Gerald Sibon and Josip Skoko, so we feel he is the sort of player who could do a job for us.''

For Ange Postecoglou, who knocked back the chance to manage Victory to stay with the Roar, his biggest job may just be beginning.

Almost every winner of the A-League title has been plundered of its best players, and Postecoglou and his key players are conscious of the fact that many of his better younger stars will now be on the radar for other clubs, here and overseas.

Newcastle was gutted after its 2008 championship and never really recovered, while Sydney lost half a team after winning in 2010 and finished third from bottom this year. Only Victory, champion in 2007 and 2009, managed to hold on to its better players.

Thomas Broich, the German midfielder who had such a good season in his first A-League campaign, leading to him being named the Roar's player of the year last Friday night, acknowledged that predators would swoop on the club.

''Obviously the boys are now targets for other clubs. They deserve to be targeted. I hope they stick around and value what we're trying to build here. But you can't blame anyone [for leaving],'' Broich said.

One club that is having a clear-out is Adelaide United, which crashed out of the finals so disappointingly to Gold Coast United.

Matthew Leckie, Paul Reid, Iain Fyfe, Robert Cornthwaite and captain Travis Dodd have already left Hindmarsh, and highly respected assistant coach Phil Stubbins was dumped by boss Rini Coolen last week, to be replaced by former Wellington Phoenix assistant Luc Trani.

They are not likely to be the only changes as Dutchman Coolen, who was recently reappointed on a long-term contract, puts his personal stamp on the club.

Former Gold Boot winner Shane Smeltz is expected to quit Gold Coast United and move to Perth Glory.

Solorzano is only 23? Wow, will be a fantastic player and hopefully the league can hold onto him for a couple more years.

Alex Wilkinson & Adam Kwasnik are playing in the Chinese Super League over the break.

Kruse is apparently signing with Bundesliga 2 side Dusseldorf this week.

Will be house sharing with Mitch Langerak as the clubs are 30km or so away from each other apparently. Fairly large reason with him choosing that club I believe.

Source - staff member...who was correct about Berger going and about us signing someone from another A-League club (happened to be Rojas)

Is Marrone under contract? Would hate to lose him and get nothing in return...:(

Fantastic news for Michael.

Amini trialling at Newcastle got a mention on the Eurosport Transfer Round Up the other night, would be massive if he got a contract.

Perth have offered Robbie Fowler a new 1-year deal.

Is Marrone under contract? Would hate to lose him and get nothing in return...:(

Yes, everyone bar Ante Tomic had multi season deal.

Although there is some news:
'The Club would like to send Michael Marrone its best wishes as he heads for a trial with Scottish giants Celtic!' - From MHFC fb.

Enter Ivan Franjic?

This could be were we make the Solerzano money, 250-500k

Will be a huge move if it were to go through , but as we've seen so often it can be a dead end move.

Would really hate to lose him, but am a big fan of Celtic, so that cushions the blow if he were to go there.

Big loss if we lose him though, still don't know why he didn't play in Derby 3.
