To put that in to context Adriano Pellegrino also trialled with Celtic a couple of years ago.

I hate this myth that goes around about how players getting a trial is like they're almost ready to sign. A lot of shit players have trialled with decent clubs in Europe.

If he gets service he will score goals. One problem for us st season was van Dijk would often win headers and knock it down to ... nobody. We needed a second striker big time last season. Djite will be an excellent foil to van Dijk.

Clearing Dodd's contract off the books probably facilitated this move by the way. Another win for Rini Coolen.

I think the type of player he is is easy to replace, although he was very good this season ?

I thought Hughes had a fantastic season after being absolutely horse-shit in his first season, Reid & Hughes going is worrying, perhaps we are grooming Malik as his preferred CM rather than a key defender.

I think Rini looks likely to play a 4-4-2 formation next year with a diamond in midfield, Hughes had a good season but would be crap playing as the lone DM, he always looked better player next to someone.

Caravella is an excellent addition though - true box-to-box midfielder with greater ability than Hughes.

I think Hughes left once he was made aware his playing time would be reduced this season. That's more than fair.

Agree that Caravella is techincally a much better playerm but we dont have any real grit (aside from Usucar) and we now lack some height in the middle of the park. I have faith Rini will bring someone in though.

I didnt hear him say that, he said Flores wanted to stay at the club and loved the club etc and was hoping to be marquee (i think) but instead we had be shopping him around and after hearing that we had been doing that, he told adelaide if they wre going to move him on he was only interested in going to the victory, basically as a big FU to adelaide united.

Also mentioned slory/rini relationship being too matey and his pay was not what was being reported and had created problems within the group, but thats old news.

Of course it could all be bullshit as people love making stuff up, but he came across as more genuine than some of the nutters you get ringing up 5aa.

I think the majority of dodd’s wages would be taken up by caravella.

Brucey will probably take the marquee slot i forgot about that option, but it still might leave the cap under pressure by flores who would want a pay increase to match his performance or the club will have to cash in on him.

Milli is very likely to leave the Japan for obvious reasons. TBH I'd be very surprised if AU could afford him after all the signings they've made. Bruce looks likely to be ur Aus Marquee and I think Milli would demand a bit of coin... Would pretty much complete your squad though.
