dunno if i was seeing things but I'm sure the membership tent had a hand written sign saying "1 game memberships" before last weekends game. Anyone else see it?

They were actually advertising them at the tent before the Swans match, so who knows how long they've been on offer. Giood idea though at this time of the season.

Of course, i know what its like when times are tough (I myself buy a 3 game or similar cause i cant afford a full membership). Just seems our membership structures have changed significantly and am unsure what constitutes a +1 :)
Agreed. Some of us simply can't afford to rub two bob together. For someone reason after I buy my smokes, my slab of VB for the week, lay a few bets and visit the local parlour, I don't seem to have a dollar to my name. Times are tough and I blame the Liberal Government. Thank God for Labour. It certainly has made things easier since they have been in power. Otherwise I would have had to become a woman of the night and I'm not even a woman. Thus these One Game Memberships have been a God Send. Thank You North Melbourne.

This post should be bottled and used in political textbook, describing an average labour voter. No offense intended of course.

I hear ya mate, you can't go without essentials.

Our total membership, including non game attending members for 2010 was 29,138 (I think). By Friday (Monday's published total) we should exceed this. I'm asumming that the published figure contains no non game attending memberships.

Finish the year off well and we should, in 2012 (including a net positive boost from Tassie), comfortably exceed the 2009 total membership figure of 30,557(2009) and possibly our highest offiial membership figure of 32,600 (2008).

My projections (official AFL memberships).
2011...................29,500
2012...................32,000 (5% + 1k Tassie)
2013...................34,500 (5% + another 1k Tassie)
2014...................37,250 (5% + another 1k Tassie)
2015...................40,000 (5% + another 1k Tassie)

Interested to know where the 1475 new members next year come from and how you come up with 5% each year considering the last 2 years???

Do you have Stuart Anderson on the back of your dufflecoat?

Those one game memberships definitely count towards the tally so if you ever see anyone in North gear lining up at the ticket gate to buy admission, send them over to the membership marquee.

DP - I believe that the one game membership (a bargain at $25) does count to the official total as it includes entry to a game.

ANYONE who hasn't renewed because there just isn't the money this year should really get on the phone and buy the one game membership. Every little helps, and it keeps your years of membership ticking over.

AND the one game memberships make a much better present than flowers, a gift voucher, a bottle of wine, chocolates, or any of that other nonsense people persist with.

Whoever said that our initial run of interstate games was unfair would be regretting it now.

A run to the 8 plus a chance to crack 30,000 with a handful+ of home games means we're in good stead.

Not only do we need to nail those 1 and 3 game memberships, we also need to celebrate the fact that these people are becoming members and welcome into the fold.

As fair as I can tell, one game memberships don't count. The AFL agreed to recognise 5 game memberships in about 2005 and three game memberships in 08. I haven't seen anything saying one game memberships count.

But then again, I'm not in the inner scrotum like some esteemed posters.

I'm more of a pimple on the club's perineum.

Ahh dufflecoats - fashion statement of the 60s - remember them well :)

My projection is based on the need to achieve a minimum increase of 5% per year to catch up with other Clubs PLUS I did state that this also was on the basis of good on field form for the remainder of 2011. This only has us reaching 40k by 2015 which is one year later than the Clubs target.

We have roughly achieved an average of almost 5% since 2006.

If we can't match this growth rate we will be relocated to Tassie or worse.

Would be good if someone from the club can let us know on here if the 1 game memberships do count, will get some for my aliases if they do , struggling to get the three gamers for all of them this yr.

Ditto this!

I could get probably an extra 12-15 people (mostly cash strapped students and apprentices) to sign up for 1 game membership.

"Does this count towards our membership numbers?" :thumbsu:

Those one game memberships definitely count towards the tally

Sauce, bro? I remember reading a year or two ago that the AFL defined three-game memberships as the miminum in terms of what would be officially recognised (hence Coll and Ess '3-game memberships'). Happy to be corrected.

Yeah, nah.
