Re: Round 11 Trades

ablett, simply he is ablett and will average more than hodge over the whole year

Barring injuries, Ablett will score more points compared to Hodge as Ablett is playing an extra game. Can't see Hodge outscoring Ablett by more than 10ppg for the rest of the year.

It really does depend if you are going for league win, I reckon it could be possible for Hodge etc. to be rested round 24 for their trip up to the Gold Coast.

Re: Round 11 Trades

I'm having trouble picking the last 2 players for my midfield. I'm going for a LEAGUE win, and already carrying Stevie J + Chappy, and Gibbs.

Do I need to stay away from more Carlton + Geelong players?

If so, who are the best midfielders available outside those teams involved with finals?

I currently have: Swan, Pendles, Ablett, Boyd.

Who are going to be the 2 next best midfielders for my situation and why?

Any help would be great fellas!

Cheers
who is in the rest of your team?

Re: Round 11 Trades

i'm actually leaning towards getting sam mitchell rather than hodge, about the same average but cheaper and will more than likely always play in the middle - hodgy could be used in many roles thus potentially impacting on his scoring ability

Yeah got Sammy a few weeks ago myself.. could've had a monster last week but went missing in the second half. Pretty happy with him although he's been a bit up n down the last few.

You also have to consider who would be Hodge's cover for that week when considering points (in my mind anyway) so that figure wouldn't be as high. I guess with Ablett there isn't as many players taking points from him but with that said, there aren't as many points available.

Given Gaj's injury history, I would put money on him missing 1-2

Re: Round 11 Trades

Hi guys. Don't ask for help often but I'm stuck upgrading my forward line.

Currently stands at:

Buddy, Pav, NRoo, Goodes, Petrie, Krak, Tapscott, Matera, T.Lynch (GC), McKernan.

Considering Petrie a keeper and Krak as maybe a permanent 8th fillin by seasons end.

Matera and Tapscott are the 2 leaving this week. 1 for Mzungu but who for the last????

Chappie aint been firing. Concerned with rioli and ROK cos of having buddy and goodes.

Sylvia is very expensive. everyone think he'll keep up his output? even stevieJ is scoring well.

at moment leaning towards Sylvia. Any thoughts????

Fyfe not an option? Jonathan brown? And from really really left field, Leon Davis if cash is a struggle

Not getting Fyfe i think. Have Mundy, Pav and Lower, and i think Fyfe is a little overrated. cash aint a problem. Browndog and even higgins could be leftfield choices. Neon Leon is a good cheapie but I'm looking for a prem.

Re: Round 11 Trades

who is in the rest of your team?

Backs: Goddard, Fisher, Deledio, Gibbs, Broughton, Heppell, Lower
Emg: Duigan, B Smith, Toy.

Mids: Swan Ablett, Boyd, Pendles, Harris, Kraks
Emg: Illes, Bewick, Hibberd

Rucks: Sandi, Cox
Emg: Petrie, Smith

Fwds: Franklin, Riewoldt, Stevie J, Chappy, Rioli, Goodes, Darling
Emg: Lynch, Richardson, I Smith

Thinking Harris > Mzungu
Kraks > Premium Mid

What you reckon?

Dal santo would fit nicely into that midfield, but if u can keep krak for mpp purposes that might be beneficial

Re: Round 11 Trades

Mzungu in would open the MPP again but yeah agree NDS is a solid in. You're also missing a fwd Becks.

Darling is the other fwd.

Mzungu keeps the MPP.

Yeah NDS is a gun. Hodge and NDS? Will Mundy continue?

Thanks for the help lads.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't krak your only forward mpp in the middle at present? Hence if u can keep him all the better, mundy going well but hodge and his love of injuries worries me.

That's one expensive and good player wasting on your ruck bench. Could you look at a double downgrade this week (Darling > Tippett, swap Petrie to the forward line) and Harris > Mzungu, then upgrade two next week?

Re: Round 11 Trades

Got a few options this week.

I can do a straight swap of Libba > Hodge/Thompson (Thompson is the highest).

I also plan to trade Tapscott > Mzungu.

I can then use that with the money in the bank to get any mid.

My choices are...

Libba > Hodge: Already have Buddy and Cyril

Libba > Thompson: No Crows but I plan on bringing in Sylvia as my last forward upgrade so both out in the multi-bye round

Libba > Montaga/Dal Santo: Already have N Roo and BJ

Libba > Ablett: No other Suns apart from Harris and Z. Smith. Harris to be upgraded to Jobe Watson. Smith is my third ruck but currently starting for Sandilands

Libba > Priddis: Only have Cox from the Eagles.

My midfield is: Swan, Pendlebury, Mundy, Judd, Harris, (Libba upgrade),
(Gaff, Hibberd, Jacobs)

I'll use the remaining cash on Krakouer > Sylvia.

Thoughts?

Definately have thought something like this.

However, I want to keep Petrie as my back up ruck and trade out Zac Smith when he reaches his peak/when Sandi comes back. Don't like the idea of Tippett sitting on my bench and don't think Petrie would ave too many more than Darling at present who is my F7.

Plan is Hodge this week, H. Shaw after after Pies 2nd bye and NDS the round after that.

Cheers for the help lads. $2000 cash is mine.

Re: Round 11 Trades

What are people's thoughts on Shannon Hurn, I reckon he is a good speculative pick in the backline, has been an SC King in the past and is the kind of player who only needs 15 touches to ton up.

Re: Round 11 Trades

Are people keeping Foley? Is he a M6 for the season or a late upgrade? Has a B.E of 51 so worth holding for a little while longer.

Will most likely be one of the last that needs upgrading in my side. Has been a pleasant success, barring Rnd 1.

To be honest, i'd get Chapman. Proven ultra premium at a price never seen before. Only a matter of time before he starts pumping out those 120+ scores every week.

Re: Round 11 Trades

My current team is:

DEF:
B. Deledio, B. Goddard, B. Gibbs, D. Heppell, N. Lower, L. Gilbee, P. Puopolo
M. Hibberd, J. Toy, C. Pedersen

MID:
S. Pendlebury, D. Mundy, M. Boyd, M. Priddis, M. Pavlich, D. Swallow
D. Harris, T. Liberatore, B. Jacobs

RUC:
D. Cox, Z. Smith
A. Sandilands, L. Keeffe

FWD:
L. Franklin, N. Fyfe, P. Chapman, A. Goodes, D. Petrie, N. Riewoldt, J. Darling
T. Lynch, B. Matera, S. McKernan

I have $182,200 left in the Salary Cap with 12 trades remaining.

My current plan is to trade B. Matera to T. Mzungu and T. Liberatore to G. Ablett.
When I bring D. Swan in after the R13 bye I'll swap Mzungu and Pavlich to finish off the FWD line.
But, I'm pretty concerned about my backline as it is, particularly with Gilbee playing like crap and struggling to keep a spot in the team (I wish I'd picked Fisher, Newman, Shaw or anyone else around the same price other than him at the start of the year!).

What are your thoughts? Thanks :)

I stand to be corrected but purely from a evenness perspective I would bring in a defender this week. Maybe you could upgrade Toy? I only say this because you have a fairly strong forward line and about 5 premiums in your midfield (incl Pav who I understand will move FWD) but only 3 premiums in the back, 4 counting the up and down Gilbee. I'm not sure how you'd work it out, whether you'd consider going Libba > Mzungu then Toy > Fisher/etc but just a suggestion.

Note: I say that based on the rumours that Matera will be missing for a couple of weeks so you can hold onto him without losing money. I'd definitely agree with anyone who'd say that this might be a better week to down/upgrade a mid and a forward given most of us have Libba and Matera and don't want to lose money. I'm facing a similar dilemma.

I certainly agree that it does make sense to bring in a defender this week, but these are my thoughts:
G.Ablett is going up in price if I don't get him now.
I have to bring in a FWD/MID in my forward line to get Pav there later so I have to do a FWD downgrade to Mzungu unless another one pops up later.
Also, I'm planning on bringing Newman in next week after the bye in place of Toy.
Brain melt :p

If you're going for League wins then S.Thompson's bye is a multi bye and with Ablett it doesn't matter how many GC players you have as they don't have any more byes.

Have you considered Boyd or Selwood? I'd look at them first, but there might be a reason why you didn't list them?
