Re: Round 10 trades

Anyone thinking of getting Ablett must do so knowing he most likely has at least one more bye. I cant see him playing 15 games straight, not for this team, in this meaningless year.

It's why I am going with Boyd for instead as my M6. :D:thumbsu:

Swan, Judd, Selwood, Dal Santo, Goodes, Boyd.

(Harris, Hibberd, Muzunga)

I would have thought GC would want to have their captain out there every week, but we will see in time I suppose. Tough little bugger - I'm sure he'll be aiming to play every game, but you cant forecast injuries.

I just asked the question on our SCE forum POTP, I await this answer from most of the lads there. lol

I'm sure you'll get varying opinions Biggie, but I'll be taking him this week or next. IMO, he is still the best player in the game and is well worth the risk.

He is averaging 118 as it stands and will only improve that IMO. His lowest score in DT is 81 (so he's still getting the ball) and I think GC have started to get their head around the fact that he is a major asset and are starting to protect him somewhat.

I can't see the risk tbh.

Re: Round 10 trades

Same thing as last week, a couple hundred short to go Atley > Jacobs and then Armitage > Ablett.

Which of these presents the better option?

Mzungu?
Winmar?
Evans (Melb)?
Callinan?

Re: Round 10 trades

If Grundy is your biggest problem in your team then that could be a good trade. I also have Grundy but have a few other areas to fix first.

Dud pick at the start of the year. Looked hard at Adcock and was worried with past injuries. Now with Adcock in career best form maybe worth while getting him.. my team has no obvious upgrades at the mo and Reg is in the gun.. here's my side with 15 trades left..

Goddard, Deledio, Gibbs, Enright Grundy, Heppell, Lower (Batchelor, Thompson, Puopolo)

Swan, Judd, Selwood, Mundy, Thompson, Harris (D Swallow, Jaocbs, Bewick)

Cox, Smith (Sandi, J Tip)

Franklin, Pavlich, Goodes, N Riewoldt, J Riewoldt, Petrie, Darling (Tapscott, Richardson, Siposs)

Only problem is I only have 23k so I can't sideways trade.. it would need to be either Tappy > Lynch or Swallow > Mzungu..

Re: Round 10 trades

Fremantle people think Mzungu will play the rest of the year out.

Am seriously considering Curnow > B.Jacobs then thinking Tapscott > Fyfe/O'Keefe

Thoughts?

Out, didak, higgins and johncock. Yes all the going. In diesel Williams, ablett snr just for a POD

Re: Round 10 trades

I am seriously jizzing in my pants after this weeks trade in's of Matera > Lynch and Tapscott > Sylvia.

B - Goddard, Delidio, Gibbs, Adcock, H.Shaw, Heppell, Lower

(Pupolo, Jacobs, Toy)

C - Swan, Judd, Selwood, Dal Santo, Goodes, Harris

(Libba, Conka, Hibberd)

R - Sandilands, Cox

(Smith, J.Tippet)

F - N.Riewoldt, Pavlich, O'Keefe, Franklin, Sylvia, J.Riewoldt, Petire

(Lynch, I.Smith, Richardson)

*Next lot of trades will be Libba > Mzunga and Conka/Harris to Boyd.

Only have Lower to upgrade after that.

11 trades at the moment with $100,400 in the bank.

Will use another trade later on to go Richardson > Callihan to get more MPP goodness. :D:thumbsu:

Ranked 3173 overall. Time to fly up the overall rankings. :D:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Re: Round 10 trades

I (like just about all of us) have the Sandilands conundrum and I am seriously contemplating downgrading him to a Bailey/Vardy and using the ~ $450,000 on finishing my midfield this week, and then almost finishing my defence come Round 11. Mind you, the only reason I am considering this is because I have Z Smith to cover in the ruck alongside Big Cox.

I currently have 16 trades left and ranked 143 overall.

Am I crazy?

Probably, but i think I am too and I'm going to do it, with a view to finishing my upgrades in the next two weeks, and maybe bringing sandi back in after his last bye, depending on how he's recovered. That will leave me with 5 trades for injuries and i'll just have to pray that that's enough!

nice ranking btw, this could be the edge to get you right up there.

Re: Round 10 trades

with 16 trades you could do a few things. Most people will hold onto Sandi and play smith. You could get an edge by seeing who has a good run this next month, eg goldstein/mumford. and still afford to bring sandi back when he is fit. Smith wont get the 150's that these are capable of and that sandi can get when back. Might be wiser using one of your trades this week to downgrade for a player on 2 games expecting a healthy rise if you need to make cash. Especially since other cows are reaching their peak.

Thanks. Yeah, my ranking is a bit flattering considering that I am at least 500 points off the pace. Thus why I definitely have to try something against the grain in-order to get back up there.

From what I gather, leaving ~5 trades for long-term injuries seems to be the norm. You're on your way nicely if you can finish off your upgrading within the next two weeks - I am at least a month away from doing that.
Good luck!

Hmm...nice take on the situation. Definitely something that will need considering. Cheers.

Re: Round 10 trades

InsertPhrasehere; i reckon you go for it. risky but it could pay off well. you need to do something different to have a real crack at the 50K i think...

I have changed my plans due to Conca's b/e.

i was going to do Tappy > Lynch and Conca to Ablett but looks like i'll upgrade L Thompson to H. Shaw instead. completing my backline

Re: Round 10 trades

Cross went from 100~DT to ~70SC, not good enough, may be getting the flick this week.

I've got Cross.

He was a poor choice in hindsight, but I didn't expect the Bulldogs to struggle like they have this year. IIRC, he went from a 103 ppg average in 2009 to 113 ppg in 2010. I thought they would be Top 3 this year.

If Cross isn't getting 30-35+ touches, he can't crack 100 in SC when his team is getting beaten. This is his worst year ever.

Im in the same boat with Cross....my worst initial selection so far.
