Rey Mysterio is presently working through a rotator cuff injury. The injury occurred during SmackDown!'s most recent overseas tour and company officials have been limiting his in-ring work at television and pay-per-view events, as well as house shows. He's contained in tag matches when he does work non-televised events.

Meanwhile, Mysterio handpicked Cody Rhodes to work his current storyline with. Current plans call for the two to face off at WrestleMania XXVII. Of course, that could change.

Some news on why Mysterio hasnt been around as much lately.

Also it was reported Christian was at the rumble WITHOUT his arm in a sling.

Am i the only one who thinks that Alex Riely wasn't supposed to be eliminated when he was. It looked like he was supposed to do the whole land on the apron and slide back under the ropes thing but he just hit the apron and fell off. The commentators didnt notice that he was out and kept talking about him like he was in when he was already eliminated.

Love the Rumble. Have always loved the rumble. The one hour just flies by. I don't think you can say that about any other match. It just seems to go so quickly.

It's obvious with Del Rio winning, that the WWE are pushing as many high-potential stars up to main event status as quickly as possible. Good. They need to.

With HHH, Batista, Jericho, Undertaker all out for various reasons, the main event level has been thin, and they need to start pushing the high-potentials. That's why Miz, Morrison, Del Rio and Ziggler have all been elevated to main-event status. Ziggler only got there in the last two weeks, with his feud with Edge.

Ziggler is fantastic in-ring. The match he put on at the Rumble with Edge was better than the Miz-Orton match. Ziggler just knows how to sell a great match. He needs a bit of work on the microphone, which is why they pair him with Vicki, because she is Smackdown's biggest heel, but it's his in-ring work which has seen him elevated.

The Miz by contrast was elevated MAINLY for his out-of-ring work (which is arguably more important these days).

It's obvious they are going for a Miz-Cena WWE title match at Wrestlemania. WWE management would be thrilled with the Miz, and they need a strong heel to combat SuperCena. Miz will be rewarded for his fantastic work over the last 6 months with the main event.

Del Rio and Edge will obviously (one would think) be the World Title match.

Add Lawler vs Cole and Undertaker vs Barrett as the two certain matches that have been planned according to rumours, and maybe a couple of surprise packets and you have a pretty good looking card.

The matches at Mania might not look as epic as others Mania's, but if the card is deep, deep, deep, they will still be able to put on a great show as always.

HHH's role at Wrestlemania is the one that intrigues me. And Punk too. The whole Punk-Cena thing probably won't last until Wrestlemania, and with Miz eliminating Cena today, it's obvious Miz and Cena are being paired up for the big feud.

As an aside, how good was Ziggler in the World title match? He's well and truely won me over after that performance.

Totally agree!

You know what I reckon? I reckon his matches on Raw against Cena about a month ago effectively got him this World title shot. They were great matches he put on with Cena.

And I think he has been rewarded for his great in-ring work.

The match he is in, is usually the best match of the night.

If he had the mic ability of the Miz, he would be the biggest star in the company.

Lawler vs Cole? What a stupid idea!

It's a great idea, which is why it will happen.

There is often a match like that at a Wrestlemania. Last year it was Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon.

You've got to put yourself in the shoes of the WWE who will book what the fans want. The fans hate Michael Cole. He is performing brilliantly as the "never shut up" announcer who one day will get what's coming to him.

Notice how Cole keeps saying to Lawler, "You can't touch me because the Raw GM says if you do, you'll be fired."

I mean, c'mon it's not half obvious they are teasing the fans and are just waiting to give the two a match so that the crowd can get what they want and have Lawler smack the living hell out of Michael Cole.

To me, it's a lock for Wrestlemania. Plus the rumous are that the WWE want Cole to work on some wrestling, for a "little bit of in-ring work."

Now, what kind of in-ring work do you think that will be? It's not half obvious.

Vince needs another mexican to replace rey, rey is on his way out. Mexico is a huge market for the wwe it is smart business if its done right. however he has had only 1 feud. ONE. He is being shoved down our throats. The new stars are getting pushes they dont deserve. aka The Sheamus push(however he has been there for a few years, Atleast Barrett hasnt won the title yet. Barrett has been in fcw for a few years before he got on the main roster. wwe wanted to call mason ryan up last year. However the kid didn't think he was ready.

Why is Sheamus or Barrett a better or more deserving pick for a main event spot than Del Rio? Del Rio has been a main eventer in Mexico for years. He's as credible, worthy and ready for the WWE main event spotlight as any newcomer that's received a decent push in the last 5 years.

The fact that the commentators didn't realise and didn't mention it makes me think he was just meant to fall to the apron, rather than to the floor.

Riley screwed up the nxt 2 final aswell

So what he did crap in mexico. if he proved himself in tna maybe. But there are more deserving choices. The wwe can make anybody into a star.

- Word is that the WWE Divas Title match being changed to a Fatal 4 Way match at the Royal Rumble was planned before last night. T-shirts being sold for the event featured the Fatal 4 Way instead of the Handicap Match originally advertised.

- There is said to be some frustration between WWE officials and Rey Mysterio right now as it relates to him continuing to need time off and lighter scheduling. It's said that Rey is no longer traveling first class.

WWE realizes Rey won't be around for many more years and really want to fill that void in the Hispanic market when he leaves. Vince McMahon has pushing John Laurinaitis to find lots of new Hispanic stars, including Alberto Del Rio.

- Dave Meltzer reports that Booker T is under some sort of contract with WWE but Kevin Nash is not. The feeling is that WWE may offer more work based on the reactions at the Royal Rumble last night. Booker T may end up doing anything from announcing to managing and working backstage. A role for Booker T on the return of Tough Enough was also talked about.

Shock i'm right. Rey is always seems to be carrying on backstage. screwed dolph out the ic title in 2009.

Hopefully later this year JOMO gets moved to sd and goes heel. JOMO or Dolph for mitb please.

Alberto Del Rio is the best wrestler/character in the past 10 years. By so much its scary
Probably not 10 years, but damn I love this guy.

Very pleased he won, but man my family were pissed. lol

So what he did crap in mexico. if he proved himself in tna maybe. But there are more deserving choices. The wwe can make anybody into a star.

Whether you realise it or not, being a main eventer in CMLL or AAA in Mexico is a bigger deal to people in the wrestling business than being in TNA. They draw crowds as big as WWE in those promotions, and are treated like legitimate athletes and mainstream superstars in Mexico.

Even if Del Rio is in line as WWE's next Mexican star after Rey, and WWE is looking for other Mexican talent, why is that a bad thing? And how does it prove any point in your favour? Just shows that they're becoming more open to bringing in guys who've got a background in something other than traditional US style or WWE formulaic style.

The logical line on the Riley elimination:

Riley was NOT meant to be eliminated when he was, the commentators didnt even notice it till later on and Strikers comment "Ive only got one thing to say about that (random you're a failure noise)" makes it seem like there was something better planned.

Riley runs to the back where they crap themselves with their plans being ruined and tell him to go back out and distract cena from the ramp as an alternative.

Miz still at ringside, even though Riley was eliminated indicates he was waiting to hear something through his headset from the back. He seemed to go really quiet after the Riley elim so he may have been talking to the creative team rather than wearing an on air mic.

Just my personal speculation but it seems the logical reasoning.

On the Del rio/Mexican crap MVPR is bringing up, Yes they may have wanted more Latin talent but that is NOT the only reason he is getting a push, guy was an absolute star back in mexico and is basically the complete wrestling package.

As mentioned WWE was his first 'real' heel run and he has done it flawlessly. He's great in the ring and ignoring the thick accent spectacular on the mic. he's so good you just want to hate him, and thats what a heel does.

AJ Styles from your beloved TNA has no WWE feuds. If he were to jump to WWE tomorrow, should he start at the bottom then too?

Amazing that in his ONE fued, Del Rio has gone so far past guys like AJ that they would be embarrassed with thier time so far.. Bona Fide STAR, knows how to promote and is a standout talent in the ring.. Del Rio will main event for a long long time to come so get ready for it....

And as far as MOST are concerned.. Its all :thumbsu:

Ps. Everyone should stop commenting on how Ziggler looked in his match otherwise a certain someone on here will have to turn on him and start calling him overrated...

wtf

santino coming 2nd. should have done that angle with someone like morrison imo. Morrison was awesome. i liked daniel bryan today. thought he did well. however wm27 is so easy to predict now

Del Rio v Edge
Miz v Cena
Punk v Orton
Taker v Barrett
Corre v Nexus
And more then likely Nash v Show

They wouldn't have Taker vs Barret and than Nexus vs Corre while Punk is wrestling Orton makes no sense to be honest.

Who knows what is going to happen with the title matches with the Elimination Chamber. Still got HHH to come back and what a better place than the elimination chamber so if he is back i will say Sheamus v HHH at WM. Also got Christian coming back at some point could very well be in the EC also which could start that Edge vs Christian feud that everybody wants but in order for that to happen they have give the title to someone else which unfortunately could be Rey so we have Rey vs Del Rio at WM. Not to mention it's possible we have Jericho to return with surely what would be a fued with Orton there's another possible WM match.

Not easy to predict at all maybe wait and see what happens at the next PPV.

I would like to know how many RR's have gone by where there hasn't been an accidental elimination surely it has happened a few times in the past. But thats two fairly big mistakes from Riley now, the one from NXT and now lucky he makes up for it with his mic work.
