Collingwood – Certain top 4. How could you not finish top 4 given their draw.

Hawthorn – Surely 2012 will be the year for this incredibly talented list. If they don’t do well this year its almost time to move Clarkson on. Thought he made Neil Craig like mistakes in the Collingwood final. Also, hard to believe that a club crying out for ruckman would move on Renouf.

Geelong – Fantastic football club but the end is near.

Carlton – Their outstanding midfield may carry them into the top 4 but don’t think it will win them a premiership.

Freo – Talent all over the ground. Much better coach should see them improve.

St Kilda – Heading for a massive fall. Do they have any quality players under 25.

Sydney

West Coast

Bulldogs

Melbourne

Port Power – Hate to admit it but this is a club on the rise. If they can keep their list intact and continue to receive handouts from the AFL/SANFL they will be top 4 within 3 years, also provided they can get a competent coach. Building an outstanding midfield and then throw in quality young kpp’s such as Butcher and Trengove and things are starting to look up at Alberton. Would kill for even a 3rd of their aggression.

North Melbourne

Adelaide – Dead man walking. A club who has lost it’s way. Three of its best 4players are all approaching their twilight years. Has holes all over the ground. Soft both mentally and physically. Thanks to the disaster that was the Craig/Trigg reign, we will not be a genuine premiership contender for at least 5years. A club who loses as many players as the AFC has serious issues. Hopefully Sanderson can instill some hardness/aggression into this club but I wont hold my breath.

Richmond – People keep talking them up but they only have 4-5 quality players and then a whole lot of rubbish.

Essendon – Worst midfield in the competition

Brisbane

Gold Coast

CaptainDangerfield, why don't you follow dyertribe over to the Port board and be done with it?

The way you pump up Port's list every year (while simultaneously attacking ours) is amazing.

How's this:

Revised 2012 Ladder:

Collingwood

AFC - Despite not having a CHB, a 2nd ruckman, more than one 1st tier midfielder, a small forward, a consistent tall forward, any sign of aggression or tackling ability the AFC is poised to win its 3rd premiership in 2012 , provided of course the now regular player walkouts also don't start occuring mid-season.

Hawthorn

2012 Brownlow Medalist: B Reilly - AFC

I'm pretty sure Talia's more than capable

a 2nd ruckman
Forgotten about Jenkins? He hasn't played at AFL level yet but he is a "2nd ruckman"

more than one 1st tier midfielder
Sloane and Danger could step up into that category this year, but I might give you this one

a small forward
Wright and McIntyre
a consistent tall forward
I'll give you this one but even then Tex and Tippett could gain consistency

any sign of aggression or tackling ability
There are some signs such as Pets, Sloane and Thommo but yes we do need more of this and it should come under Sanderson.

Honestly, to think that Port will not only be better than us next year but to be on the cusp of the eight is nothing short of laughable, we're in a much better position than they are at the moment but for some reason, you just can't see this.

Hard to predict so early given potential pre-season injuries could kill clubs chances of making top 8, but i'll give it a go:

1.Collingwood - Too many A-Grade Players. With a new coaching structure i expect them to make the GF;

2.Hawthorn - If they can avoid injuries to key players i think they have the 2nd best squad;

3.Carlton - Some gun players, cant see them winning th GF withought a KF stading up, maybe Kruzer is the answer. Anything less that a top 4 and Roos will be the next coach;

4.Sydney - Cant believe how well they have refreshed their squad. I think they will be underated, but if they can implement a more attacking style of play it would not surprise me if they made the GF;

5.Geelong - Great List but not as good as the last 3-4 years. Some Aging players and important retirements cant see them winning it in 2012;

6.Fremantle - Good young list with some A-Grade players. With Ross adding structure i can see them making a GF in the next 3 years;

7.Essendon - Continue to build impressive list. Not top 4 yet;

8. Adelaide - Injury prevention/management and structure is key. Our List is young and impressive. Could climb to as high as 6th;

9.Richmond - Like there young list. This team is going places. Wouldnt surprise me if the made top 8;

10.West Coast - No chance of having the type of year they had in 2011. Almost everything went right fo them;

11.North Melbourne - Like their list and midf group is real impressive. KPPs are a concern. Doubt they are ready for top 8;

12.St Kilda - Who knows :confused: Biggest unknown is this club. Top 10 players are as good as any clubs. Not sure their players 20-40 are good enough for them to make top 8;

13.Melbourne - Will take time. Trying to make these players stronger physically and mentally. No finals this year;

14.Brisbane - Highly competitive this year, but lacked class. Same story next season;

15.Western Bulldogs - Worried big time for them. Their list is in trouble;

16.Port Adelaide - I think they will be more competitive but not enough class to compete for top 8;

17.Gold Coast - Continue to improve;

18.GWS - To Quote Matt Rendell 'Shocking'

Hoping this is true. Nothing worse than being surrounded by a bunch of bandwagoning, champagne sipping Weagles supporters. Also quite funny when Fremantle does significantly better than them.

.....hahahahahahahahahaha :D

What I've never understood is why you'd criticise Neil Craig for his methods, when clearly you've been getting the DVD player out every day for the past several years, putting 2004 season highlights on and dropping your daks.

Port Power aggressive? They are the limpest, softest excuse of a front running team i have ever seen. What drugs are you on CaptainDangerfield? Butcher looks like he could be quality but Trengove is an overrated hack. I guess M.Thomas is agressive but he is a hack also. Bizzare you would look up to the team that was 40 points up against a team of 18 year olds and G. Ablett and rolled over. Westhoff epitomizes Port Power and all they stand for.

Sounds a lot like Round 4 2011 ;)

Merry Xmas!

2012 Brownlow Medalist: B Reilly - AFC

I see where you're coming from (apart from Reilly) but don't you think you could find 25 more holes in Port's list. They're struggling to find one semi decent ruckman.

This can be dismissed as pre-season optimism, but our side has a number of younger guys (23 and under) who've spent the last couple years in development mode and are just about to go Bang. I think the injection of Sanderson and a whole new look and feel to the club will accelerate this.

(I'm talking about Sloane, Walker, Dangerfield, Smith, Wright, Jaensch, Talia, Otten, Petrenko, plus a 'spike' from Tippett, Mackay, Vince, Porps, Knights etc).

No, please do Springy.

For a very long time please.

Looking down our list, it's hard to believe we could be as shitful as we have. We've so many players in the could/should explode mould - a fit Bernie Vince, Tippett, Dangerfield, Knights, Dave Mackay, Otten, Walker - that's a cluster of very, very good football talent. I'm sensing a lot of caution amongst our predictions given the way we've been burnt the past two seasons, and that's fair enough; I don't think many of them reflect the quality of list we have though. No September action is a fail mark in my eyes.

And what of our senior players? Johncock, Rutten, Thompson...Porplyzia's somewhat handy when fit. Matty Jaensch a full year at half back. Jacobs...

Looks like a finals list to me.
