Re: Player X v Player Y

I am faced with same decision. It is a tough one isn't it. Both guns, both had break-out years last year. It's a tough choice, but honestly you can't go wrong with either, both super consistent and both will score 100+ more often than not.

Rockliff should expect more attention this year though, but saying that he is still 3rd in line for the tag IMO, with Rich and Black ahead of him. Redden would probably be 4th in line.

Honestly flip a coin lol.
I think Redden could explode if he increases his average disposals and maintains his tackling. Such a hard decision.

Well that's the thing. Rockliff gets more of it, but Redden tackles more.

It really is too hard to tell, i think what may sway it to more Rockliff's favour is he has a higher ceiling it seems. But if Redden can improve his disposal average, then he may be the better pick.

Re: Player X v Player Y

It may have been done but a long thread to trawl through.

St Nick v Sidebottom.

I think St Nick is under priced, however Sidebottom seems to have a lot of room for improvement, esp early on.

Sloane v Melksham

Sloane I think we score more and comes with better average in 2011, however I feel Melksham may have greater room for improvement. and is priced below 70.

Sloane and Sidebottom. If this was SC I would lean towards Riewoldt.

Pendlebury/Rockliff
vs
Boyd/J Selwood?

Re: Player X v Player Y

Regards to Hall and Dickson i'm in a similar position, leaning towards Hall, more likely to not get vest, but Dickson looked good in Nab, for mine not going near Pfeiffer.

And regards to the post above, i agree with Pendles and Rockliff, but what about just a head to head Boyd vs Rockliff? who will score more?.

Re: Player X v Player Y

boyd just ahead of rockliff...ask the question this time next year & it could be rockliff undisputed

a couple of dilemmas boys - help apprecaited;

selwood vs rockliff

&

golby + chapman vs birchall + dangerfield

cheers

Re: Player X v Player Y

Really needing some advice here.

i went with Parker & Mcdonald in my mids, now with both out i'm happy to keep McDonald on the pine for 2 weeks, But my problem is Parker. I'm a little nervous about his job security now and the uncertainty of when he will get back, so i was thinking of trading down Waters to howard in my backline before lockout this week, which won't cost me a trade, and then use the extra cash next week to upgrade Parker to Rhys Palmer. Would really appreciate the feedback on this one. :thumbsu:

Re: Player X v Player Y

which combo is better

Lucas and Ledger or Mccarthy and Clay Smith????

my team atm is.

Goddard, Deledio, Birchall, Broughton, Golby, Hargrave, Bugg (Ellis, Bouman)

Swan, Ablett, Gibbs, Mitchell, Mccarthy, Clay Smith (Magner, Sheil)

Kreuzer, Giles (Redden, Stephenson)

Goodes, Fyfe, Sidebottom, Robbinson, Lewis, Smith, Dickson (Hall, Kerridge)

Re: Player X v Player Y

I can't take Rockliff seriously.

Flash in the pan for mine.

If he performs to the 110 level again this year I'll re-evaluate. I just think he has 0 upside compared to more established guns. Montagna/Bartel could easily bounce back to being top 5 DTers for example and for a much better price.

Re: Player X v Player Y

Getting a bit nervous with my forward line.

Currently have Chapman but unsure if Robinson will fire like he did late last year.

Will Robinson get roles at Carlton which may reduce his score?
Will Chapman fire up again after a pretty ordinary year for his standards in 2011.

Robbo has had a interrupted preseason but scored pretty well for TOG% the other weekend.

Thoughts?

Cheers

chappy has proven his scoring over a number of years,
even in bad games he rarely scores very poorly.

a much safer option i think

Went a bit expensive there my team is spreaded out with scorers everywhere

Re: Player X v Player Y

No such word as "spreaded"... haha

Also, Having Ablett and Swan is not going expensive - worth the cash and i'd say most people have 2/3 of Swan, Pendles, Ablett and Boyd.

Don't know about you but if you use the right method your scorers will be coming from everywhere & that my team my scores will be going up quick from my defenders, mid & forwards also Rucks. I've played dt for awhile now so yeah I found a method that works for me. Anyway I've stuck away from Swan....

Re: Player X v Player Y

Yep a balanced squad is very important.

So is having slight variations on strategy depending on which position holds value.

eg. this year a lot of people are choosing 3 rookie rucks, unheard of really - but perhaps this year it holds some credence?

I actually have Swan, Pendles, Boyd and Ablett all starting in my team - too much? Maybe...but i feel my team is solid elsewhere.

I do have big concerns over Swan though, need a lot of confidence from a player who's 600k...preseason hasn't been too flash, but his record over the years is so hard to avoid.

Re: Player X v Player Y

Clay Smith v Tory Dickson

Both look like being starters for round 1. I only want to pick one. Learning towards Dickson given he is a forward and there seems to be less viable rookie options in the forward line. Unsure as to who may be more inclined to be vested.

Thoughts?

I'm going with Dickson. Just on the fact that I really cant seem to fill up decent looking rookies the FWD line.

With my side, I dont know where to play pfeiffer. I have him in the mid atm because of his DPP, but I feel there are better mid options for rookies. I dont like Saad in my fwd line rookies and pfeiffer can take his spot

Where are people putting pfeiffer in their teams?

Comes down to structure though for you, do you have kennedy? if so where? Cause having a DPP in M8 gives you a lot of flexibility. Otherwise if hes in the middle yeah definitely forward, cause forward rookies aren't great down forward, after smith no real security. Dickson and Hall are the only other possibilities.

and ps can people answer others peoples questions before they post, bit ridiculous, not that hard, everyone wants advice, so don't be a s*** bloke and just post your question and expect someone to answer it.
