Some Melbourne based clubs have a membership arrangement with the MCC? Never heard of it. Tell me more.
As far as i know (from what friends have told me) that Hawthorn and Melbourne definitely offer it.
You pay anywhere from $50-$100 and you get counted as a club member, and you may also get access to a non-MCG away game.
Sorry for the vague info but it is all heresay.

Goes anyone have a link to the seating at KP? Im looking at applying for a Home membership next year with reserve seating at KP but I'm unsure as to what stands/areas are the Platinum/Brownlow, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Thanks

Oh god we still have that shithouse 'Footy Full on' crap, now they've just made it worse by putting 'Experience' in front of it

Who the hell comes up with these titles ?

Would think after 4 or 5 years of the "Footy Full On" thing it's time to try something a bit different this one has had it's day.

Geelong Good to Great or something would make a nice change

Cheers SJ, looking at doing the reserved seat thing myself for the 1st time this year... only thing is its just me... has anyone else just brought the one and made many a friend from seeing the same people each week?

There'll be at least 3 seats up for grabs next season.

My parents and myself had silver priced seating in the old Wade stand, but this year we were reallocated to the outer, and were of the understanding that once the new stand was finished, we'd get our old seats back in a similar area of the Players Stand for a similar price. Got a letter last week saying that the area where we were sitting is now classified as platinum seating, which is $70 a seat more than silver seating. That mightn't sound much, but it is for two pensioners and someone who is currently unemployed.

A phone call to the club didn't really help either, as the guy who we were talking to was blaming the AFL about the pricing, and seemed less than sympathetic to our plight. Nice way to treat 20 year members. But anyway, I digress.

To answer your question, you do get to know several people who sit around you. I guess you could say I'm to 'blame' for re cat being a member of this board, considering she's sat in front of me in the Wade Stand for several years, and I was telling her about BigFooty a few years ago. Have met Shell and eliiiza as well, as re cat's got them tickets to sit up in the stand too.

I would've thought there must be plenty of silver seating available in the new stand. We were contacted weeks ago by the club and asked if we want to go back to our old area of Bay 1 in the Wade Stand [we were in the Hickey Stand this year] and we said we'd like to go back.I think our area is Platium though.

... the AFL which I believe has one of the worst, most corrupt administrations in world sport. These guys make FIFA look squeaky clean and the Syrian government look competent!

I say this as nice as I can. If you truly think AFL is not only more corrupt than FIFA, but also make FIFA look squeaky clean, then you know bugger all about the round ball game.

I don't like a lot of the AFL decisions particularly round certain rules, but your comment is way off.

It is about time Geelong stood up to the AFL and demanded they get their full quota of home games at KP. It is not good enough to give us 7 of the shit teams to play at home and expect us to travel to the MCG or Etihad to play the big teams. Don't they always talk about integrity of the competition and how the interstate clubs should get their home finals and all this crap. I am at the stage where paying over $1000 for a family membership and 4 seats to watch 7 games against GC, Port, Melb, Freo, Bris, Adel, GWS, Sydney(the one exception) and bottom feeding melbourne clubs is over the odds with the value of these games. With night games now and shiftwork, I think I might just save the cash and get foxtel. Hate to let my club down but enough is enough.

The club want to play 2-3 home games in Melbourne each year to keep the Melbourne based members happy.

The Melbourne based members are happy to have a day down at Catland and on top of that, we do play a stack of games in melbourne already as away games.
22 games = 6 interstate, 11 home and 5 away(in Melbourne). At present Geelong are playing 9 in Melbourne, 7 in Geelong and 6 interstate. Playing the Magpies at the 'G' may have cost us a place in the top 4 last season and a real crack at the flag. I get sick of playing the Dawks and the Pies at the 'G' twice a year and calling one of them a home game. And why have the Bombers and the Blues been getting special treatment over the past 5 years when they have both been cellar dwellars. Playing the cats at KP is almost mission impossible over the past 5 years.

I'm a Melbourne based member. I do enjoy the trip up the highway, but a Melbourne based membership caters for my needs with access to the G and Telstra dome for matches.

Looking at how the Premiership stand in now classified it looks like all the new stands will be classed as Platinum

All the silver seating in the Players Stand will be all the seats not under cover.

So will that make the seats under cover on the bottom level and second tier gold or platinum catergory?

I'm currently a seat holder in the Ablett Terrace but I'm seriously considering upgrading to the Players Stand but would like to have some idea about what catergory of seating the Players Stand is beforehand, am I right in saying that it sounds like it will be mixture of silver and gold/platinum sections avaliable? as I would have expected the whole stand to be under the one catergory. Also if the stand is under more then one catergory of pricing will I need to state on my renewal form in the seat upgrade section what catergory I would prefer to have?
