Just not Reid's year, and it may not be ours. To be honest if we manage to pull a flag out this year it'll be better than 2005 and 2012 combined.

I can't see it happening. We're never going to get close to best 22 this season.

Never say never but I would have to agree. I was hoping to get Reid back last week and then slowly rebuild the senior team for finals.

While Reid has been in pretty poor form this year, the news is really deflating. We just can't seem to pull a trick this season. Jetta's precautionary week or two off has become two months. Goodesy's PCL. Mattner's retirement. Shaw - can't remember the last game he played to be honest. Our lynch pin LRT is MIA.

We may get Jetta and Shaw back for finals, but Goodesy's going to be touch and go. And we all know how long it takes him to get back into his stride. Rohan doesn't have the time to become a contributor, and I think Sam's 2012 is over. It's like we've used up all our luck on the injury front.

We can still win the flag, but to do so everything must go our way. We need Jetts and Shaw back and firing in September. Goodesy needs to run out a couple of games pre-finals. And LRT must come back. We'd be a far more formidable opponent with him in our backline.

Matt Cameron has said some hilarious things this year, but nothing would put a smile on my face like the words "LRT back this week."

is depressing. Goodes, and reid long term, and underdone for the finals, if they come up. LRT, Johnson, Mattner gone. Shaw, Jetta close. Rohan back, unlikely for seniors this year. I have faith in the players selected to play, and they have done the job, but jeez, any team that misses that many starters should struggle. Swings and roundabouts I guess.

Everitt isn't playing as the third tall defender, Rampe is.
Your right but Rampe is to short only 189cm. Everitt might have to start becoming that 3rd tall otherwise what we saw happen in round 7 against the Hawks were they singled Rampe out him will happen again and the Cats will do also. Everitt isn't the greatest 1 on 1 so that will be our weakness when we come up against the top 4 even the Bombers will stretch us.

Exactly. We are fine when a team only has 2 tall forwards but when a team has 3 we are in serious trouble. Rampe is fine against a medium sized forward but he isn't big enough against a tall forward like Gunston. Everitt may not be a natural defender but against Hawthorn Everritt is our only option.

We put Reid down back against the Hawks to stop the flow wont even be able to do that nexted time if he is still not available so Everitts gonna have to start playing that 3rd tall, like u said we have no other option , XR is not ready for AFL just yet way to skinny like Bootsma , highly doubt they will try White down there not footy smart enough he got led to the ball by Henderson last game and White was playing forward couldn't imagine if he had to play on a Cloke or Roughead. Be interesting to see who they go with in 2 weeks time against the Eagles cause I think they will stretch us big time and if they do imagine what Hawks , Cats , Bombers will do repeat of round 7 sorry but true.

And that's where Reid's injury hurts even more. From what Longmire was saying last week and on the weekend, it seemed like he had really considered more seriously the idea of Reid to be a permanent swingman to fill in where needed (a la LRT).
