Yeh I really think Jetta could become a good player under Roos, I really like his defensive game, just needs to build a tank, and work on getting more of the ball.

Really? I thought we drafted him as Jamie Bennell's best friend, and we've moved Bennell on. He's got a long, long way to go for someone who'll be 24 next year. I'd rather bin him and start fresh with a new draftee with a longer shelf life.

Very pretty indeed.

Pretty happy with the delistings. As has been mentioned by a few people previously, I thought Sellar has been a bit hard done by. He has been servicable for the club, but most likely shown the door due to the ramifications of the Pedo deal. There's no point carrying two very similar players on our list into 2014.

Not necessarily re: Jetta, but I don't think there's any real need to delist ALL the players at this stage. I'm surprised he didn't go with the others today, but maybe there is some trade table interest (can we fleece Richmond again?) or, alternatively, maybe we will delist one or two more based on trade week results/PSD prospects.

I hate seeing delistings before trade period, because you may have been able to trade them; Petterd from last year was an example IMO. However, I'm happy with these because none of the 5 would carry any significant value.

Although, Couch or Tynan may have been used as sweeteners in other trades. Good luck to those two.

Don't I feel silly. Wrote basically what you did, only more slowly.

Don't think any of those players we sacked were worth anything. Don't think Jetta is worth anything either. If you're not getting a game for the worst club in the comp, you're not going to have other teams beating down your door for your services. Anyone odd enough to fancy any of those players can pick them up for a miserable end of draft pick or in the PSD.

There'd be interest in a player like Tapscott, but I hope we hang on to him and Roos turns him into a solid team member.

Would like to see what's going on with Watts and Sylvia. Sylvia still hasn't signed on despite stating he'd like to stay at the club - how hard is it to sign a contract? He'd already be on decent coin. Personally I'd like to see him go and fingers crossed pick up something decent in return for him. Would be good if Watts signed on though, I think Roos could get him playing more consistently and let him play a run of games in a suitable position instead of bouncing him all over the shop.

I'm guessing Roos hasn't cottoned on yet that Jetta isn't at all quick. Happy with the delistings other than Sellar. He's a solid backup who didn't seem to be complaining that he wasn't getting a game. Gillies isn't that big a deal because Roos isn't a short bus rider so he wouldn't play him. As mentioned Pederspud's lifetime contract is probably why we had to get rid of all three tall backs. Best of all though,

ROYAL IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!

Col is on holiday I think, will decide what to do when he gets back - I'd be disappointed if we didn't keep him.

I have heard he is very happy to sign but just can't do it right now as he is in the states. Some little details to work through as well but nothing major

Col's first 5 years on our list was a holiday .. just wonder if he wants to work hard for his 25 coach. If he goes while good luck .. be good if he allowed us to trade him.

The culture needs to be people wanting to play .. he has seen a lot of ups and downs .. I respect him if he decides to go (massive fan) but hey I can get over these things pretty quick now a days.

Just hope we get the right kids in.

Looks like one of us is going to be disappointed then!

You'll be disappointed if he stays?

Yep. Move him on, might get something back in the FA lottery. If we're serious about changing the culture then he'd be one of the ones I'd look at getting rid of. I think we're better off shot of someone who's averaged 3 good games a season over the last 10 years.

Sylvia had a pretty good consistent year this season and you are insane to think that we would get something more valuable than him in compensation.

I want to see what Roos can do with Col.

I used to feel the same about him but I saw him in the scuffle against WB and he was in it for the lads.

I hear you but I think he was reasonably consistent this season. He actually didn't have any amazing games but was solid all year. If he leaves I'm not too fussed but I'd prefer to keep him.

I think if we have two of our more high profile players buy into what Roos is selling it will have an impact on morale around the club and possibly the outcomes for the upcoming trade period.

Don't under estimate the importance of key players in our team recommitting as per the Boaks, Trengoves etc did last year with Port. (Not implying for a second that we will become a finals team next year)

If we have a united club both on and off field, along with some astute trading for established mids we can improve quickly. How quickly may well come down to some confidence, luck & commitment to the cause.

SO happy about Jetta! but you clearly dont rate him but regardless...

ThePuppetMaster agree about Sylvia, think we must keep him but signs are it should happen :)

We've gotten fk all out of col but he played well the last year and a half

We've had him too long now to let him go for nothing to see him do well elsewhere at the same time we've nabbed a coached renowned for development

He's worth the gamble as 1 player

I don't hate Jetta I just don't think there's much chance he'll amount to anything. In the VFL he's got that extra bit of relative pace that allows him to use his skill set but it just isn't there in the faster AFL.
