Why is Stark getting another go?

Hasn't had a go yet, has a great attitude but has been plagues but unavoidable injuries, depends how he pulls up nearer to pre-season.

Need to make room for at least 3 draft picks, possibly 4 if we end up getting a priority (that'd give us 4 picks of the first 35 or so), and ideally we'll chase any decent free agent midfielder (any updated FA lists out there?) so I reckon we'd want at least 4 and probably 5 spots on the main list free.

You'd imagine Fitzpatrick would sign on, although if Clarke gets fit again he might not want find himself behind Clarke, Dawes, Watts and Hogan for a key tall spot. Fingers crossed Watts and Sylvia sign on too. Not convinced Sylvia will.

Jetta, Gillies gone for sure. Taggert, Tynan and Davis I think will go too. Are they all on the main list? If so, 5 spots there freed up. If Davey can play out the season well he might be worth another year. Not fussed with the rookies other than Clisby getting another year. Have seen a bit of Davis in the VFL and don't think he's anything special, but if the club are keen on holding him they should de-list and rookie him because there's no way he's getting a game unless half our talls are out injured.

Surely Joel MacDonald doesn't have another year?

He, Sellar, Gillies should be the first 3 to go. I like Joel but there just isn't a place for him anymore really, Sellar is serviceable at best (and we have Pedersen contracted playing the same role :() and Gillies is Gillies.

If Rodan retires/gets delisted, thats 4 off the main list. 4 older players too, so its not like we're delisting players who still have potential.

I'd keep Sellar as long as he's happy staying. He's pretty decent as long as he's only a key back.

I agree, I think we are all a bit scarred by his concrete hands playing forward at the start of 2012, but he is a solid depth option in the backline and despite his somewhat bumbling appearance he is fairly mobile and has decent skills.

What games have you been watching? Delist & let's move on from this failed experiment!

It wasn't an experiment, it was an insurance policy. For a start he was excellent in the win against Essendon last year, and has been solid otherwise. No point delisting him for some skinny speculative fifth round KPD kid IMO.

Why is Stark getting another go?

We drafted him this year with a late pick. Give him time, Fitzpatrick has taken a couple of years, Mcdonald took a couple of years.

If Dunn is at our club next year I will cry.

Unfortunately he provides depth at nearly every position, and has another year on his contract

Clubs are usually pretty ruthless with rookies though. Show something in your first year or you're gone. Even more so now that the rookie list has been shortened to 4 players.

Having said that, Magner, Couch and Clisby will all likely either be promoted or delisted, clearing up 3 spots for the rookie draft... so Stark may get another year.

Dunn is fine, The issue is not Dunn its the fact we dont have anyone to replace and use him as depth like he should be.

Dunn is better than Strauss, MacDonald and Pedersen, for example.

The ones where he played in defense. It hasn't failed at all, he was brought in to replace Warnock as the spare big bodied defender. It isn't his fault coach crazy tried to play him in other spots where he sucked.

I love the hate for Tom Gillies, the man comes over as a free agent and plays 2 games, no real harm there surely?

I too enjoy the seemingly irrational hate. I think he's become many people's scapegoat for the wider problems of the Neeld era.

You underestimate the amount of concentrated evil you can fit into two games. I blame him for the Bailey era as well.

I must admit even though it was only 2 games, I got pretty attached to yelling out Oh no not Gillies, and F** off Gillies. I miss that.

I barely remember his second game. (think I was plastered) One game was enough for me.

I backed Crameri for first goal because he was going to be manned up by Tom, and the bet won. Good times.
