I wouldn't say zero key position players are worth more. That's a fact I have given reasons why he would or potentially would go 1 you can't even give a reason I'd like other people's thoughts. Bont and Kelly are better players now but key position guns are worth a lot more in my opinion.

What about Bont, who can potentially play any position on the ground and has shown that he can play as a good KPF, while at the same time being a top 10 midfielder in the competition at the tender age of 21? Surely that would hold more value than a very good KPF?

LOL BONT TOP 10 MIDFIELDER IN THE COMP HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Would be closer to 25-30 at the moment.

Which 1 of
1. Dangerfield
2. Fyfe
3. Martin
4. Selwood
5. Pendlebury
6. JPK
7. Parker
8. Kelly
9. Sloane
10. Hannebury

is he better than? Being able to play multiple positions is good, but it is NOT the deciding player to a player's ability. You'd take a specialist in 1 area over a good but not great all-rounder every day of the week.

JPK = Kennedy

He's definitely better than Pendlebury and Hannebury and you've listed Kennedy twice.

Better than Hannebery, equal with Parker and Kelly and probably Sloane too.

It was in no particular order.

What has Bont done in the past 12 months to deserve top 10? He won't even make AA this year.
But by your logic, Fyfe shouldn't be in the top 10 at all. Bont made the squad this year and Fyfe did not. Unless you count past history, and Bont made AA and had a b&f in a premiership year last year.

The logic is that Fyfe has achieved the heights of a player Bont has never achieved and will probably never achieve. In the last 6-7 rounds of 2017 we have seen that form re-emerge, whereas Bont has just been flat out mediocre.

Like best and fairest in a premiership side?

Bontempelli is about 5 years younger than these guys.
He might not be as good now but lets park this until he has played over 150 games.

Does any non-Collingwood poster think that over the last 2 seasons and moving into 2018 Pendlebury is better than Bont?
Pendles ranks amongst the likes of Ablett, Judd & Mitchell as one of the best mids i've seen in the comp this side of 2000.
Bont had a great season last year, that including a B&F, AA spot and a premiership.

Pendles has a premiership, is a 5 time B&F and 5 time AA.
to compare Bont to Pendles is silly. Kid has a long way to go to be considered at that level.

Which isn't what was being discussed. Performance over 2016 and 2017 Pendles isn't there. Great player? Yes he was and still is. But he's not performed above Bont in the past two seasons

You should probably check before making claims like that:
2016:
https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy...layerStatus2=A&tid2=8&pid2=3921&fid2=S&type=A

2017:
https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy...layerStatus2=A&tid2=8&pid2=3921&fid2=S&type=A

Granted, 2016 was neck and neck, but Pendles crapped all over Bont this year in terms of their overall output. Pendlebury is a victim of his own consistency. Constantly puts out elite numbers but doesn't get credit unless he has a freakish game. Bont has a long way to go to get to that level. He has the tools but doesn't yet have the consistency.

Bontempelli 2016 AA. Pendlebury in squad but not team.

Bontempelli in 2017 AA squad. Pendlebury not.

Look beyond the stats

Hahahahah ok if you say so. As I've already said, Pendles is a victim of his own consistency. The Bont being in the AA squad this year was a complete joke btw. Almost as undeserving as Selwood being in the 22.
