2013 Draft - Originally
Pick 1: Tom Boyd (GWS)
Pick 2: Josh Kelly (GWS)
Pick 3: Jack Billings (St Kilda)
Pick 4: Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)
Pick 5: Kade Kolodjashnij (Gold Coast)
Pick 6: Matthew Scharenberg (Collingwood)
Pick 7: James Aish (Brisbane)
Pick 8: Luke McDonald (F/S - North Melbourne)
Pick 9: Christian Salem (Melbourne)
Pick 10: Nathan Freeman (Collingwood)

This one is tough,. There are some genuine absolute STARS in this draft list.

In my opinion - 2013 REVISED Draft

Pick 1:
Marcus Bontempelli - 84 Games
Could have gone either way with 1&2 - Both absolute stars of the league. Bont has a flag, so he wins out. Just.

Pick 2: Josh Kelly - 80 Games
WILL win a brownlow,. I have no doubts about it. Absolute star.

Pick 3: Zach Merrett - 79 Games
Bit down for parts of 2017, but Zach Merrett is again an Elite midfielder already - Pick 26!! Bargain.

Pick 4: Jack Billings - 63 Games
Different to the other midfielders in this list as he kicks bucket loads of goals playing a mid/fwd role, I see him getting better and better with age.

Pick 5: Patrick Cripps - 59 Games
Crucified by injuries, but when he is fit Cripps is in the argument to be as good as anyone on this list. (other than maybe Bont and Kelly)

Pick 6: Tom Boyd - 49 Games
Am I rating him too high because of his Grand final efforts? Probably, but hey - who doesn't like a guy who steps up on the big stage, will get more consistant with time. At his best, is a justified pick 1.

Pick 7: Matt Crouch - 68 Games
I'll start by saying I'm a crows fan,. but there is little argument that we got a weapon with pick 23. Turning into a Priddis/Mitchell type, love him in our midfield.

Pick 8: Ben Brown - 76 Games
Old Sideshow Bob. 18, 32, 41, 56* <-- that's his goals per season so far. Can't argue with that. Could and Should continue getting better, in a good side 80-90 goals in a year is not out of reach.

Pick 9: Rory Lobb - 51 Games
Can be up and down, but I think he is about to explode into one of the best Ruck/Fwd players in the comp.

Pick 10: Orazio Fantasia - 46 Games
Some people won't agree with this one, there are loads of other options (L.Taylor probably the stiffest to miss) But Fantasia has that X-factor and at 21, is already kicking 40 odd goals from 20 games!,... as a small sized forward. I see him getting better and better living off Daniher scraps.

Guys like Taylor, McDonald, Kolodjashnij, McStay, Z.Jones, Nankervis, Impey, Sheed and Hartung probably fill out the top 20
I pull Boyd from the top 10. Its harsh, but a single game (even if it is the GF) just doesn't cut it given the level of talent from this draft.

Kelly
Merrett
Bont
Crouch
Cripps
Brown
Billings
Fantasia
Lobb
Sicily

How i take them at the moment.

If I had to re-pick the draft tomorrow, I would choose:
Top 10:
Bont
Merrett
Kelly
Brown
Cripps
Billings
Crouch
Fantasia
Laird
McDonald

Top 11+
Hunt
ZJones
Rampe
Lobb
Sicily
Nankervis
Dunstan
Acres
McCarthy
Sheed
Taylor
Dumont
Salem
Boyd

Just my opinion and who I would choose in that order. This 2013 draft is up there with 2001 and 2007. Given the trend, 2019 should be a ripper.

I'd have Sicily between Hunt and Jones (though Rampe would be higher). Will be an elite half back intercept player, and has been for the last 10 weeks or so excluding the Carlton game.

Nathan lonie probably averaged more too in his day. Lonie would have even won a few more hard balls than billings

Jack Billings contested possessions in career 393

Nathan Lonie contested possessions in career 299

The numbers say otherwise.

There is no chance that if this draft was redone tomorrow as you said, Brown would go No.1. Zero.

I wouldn't say zero key position players are worth more. That's a fact I have given reasons why he would or potentially would go 1 you can't even give a reason I'd like other people's thoughts. Bont and Kelly are better players now but key position guns are worth a lot more in my opinion.
