Peachy very diplomatic - but yes I think u body on body for fults is a good match up!

Looking forward to June 22 and our trip up the coast - we can share the ground Thursday night yeah and make it a 4 day weekend?? Haha

Was a good win but we knew there were a few who were flying under the radar - wont happen again that's for sure!!

Devils - good to see noddy Davis up and playing well as well - props to Rhino for putting on a water boys shirt for the 2's - not many senior coaches doing that in any league.

Tips this weekend
Bombers to beat nambour by 5 points
Kings to beat the panthers by 1 point
Kedron to lose to hornets by 5 goals
Kenmore to beat wynnum by 8 goals
Redcliff to lose to robina by 10 points
Yaronga to beat caBooture by 5 goals

Mate I didn't play but reports are Chunk#5 bagged 4 and did what he liked in the 2's 140 point win.

Seniors got the job done - probably a little flat after last week - some suggestions we were playing against a cpl of extras out there. Fults kicked 5.8 - is going to rip a game apart very soon!!!

If he could kick straight he kick 100 by round 12-13

Got no idea why the league have manufactured a bye in - but it means teams play 2 games over 3 weeks.

Devil - will sound cliched but as stoked as we are with what fults is doing we are well pleased with the way a few others are going - fults is competitive and would want 50 shots on goal a week if he could - but I do think he is enjoying not being the only avenue to goal and there isn't that pressure he may have faced in previous years.

So who gets to the 100 first? Fults or mugsy? Or does Richo get there in the 2's first?

Originally, the Yeronga V Caboolture game was scheduled for last Saturday (just like every other club).

But then the League realised that they had already booked the Yeronga fields for the Under 18 Qld V Calder Cannons game. And I believe there was an event on at Caboolture, so their field was unavailable too.

The League suggested we move the game to next Saturday - but because this is a direct clash with the Lions' Home game, that was no good (also the reason why a lot of Brisbane clubs have a general bye next week). We suggested something different by having a Friday night game - Caboolture were good enough to agree to the idea.

So, we would like to invite all local clubs and supporters to come along to Cansdale Street on Friday night to check out the game. Whether you want to see how the teams are travelling or just want to check out the facilities under lights, we would like to see a good crowd attend.

The Seniors start on Downs Oval (Field 1) at 7:45pm, and the Reserves start on Stevenson Oval (Field 2) at 7:00pm.

toucan - I think a friday night here and there is a great idea - our div 4 team play most of there games on a friday night and its a nice way to wind down after work to head out and have a look at the boys going around.

Both games overlapping will be tough on volunteers - but given a lot of the cab boys will be battling peak hr over the gateway there arent many options.

Good Luck with it all

Could you please clarify what you meant by 'some suggestions we were playing against a cpl of extras out there'??

bondy - tongue in cheek comment that some of the boys felt that the umpiring may have favoured your boys.

As clearly stated I wasnt there and this is only heresay.

Fair enough. I think most of the time all players think they are hard done by, myself included.

All in all I thought it was a good game and enjoyed the challenge, hopefully we can get a little closer in Round 8 when we play you guys down there.

bondy - haha completely agree - everyone knows gold coast teams get a tough time in brisbane and sunny coast, brisbane teams get it on the gc and sc and the sc teams get it in bris and gc :thumbsu:;)

Yeah strange fixturing in a 12 team comp to play a team for the 2nd time inside 8 rounds hey!

pretty hard to get a read on where everyone is at currently - think its a pretty even comp at the moment.

With the elevation of 4 teams is it still a final 5?

Yeh BOC what you said...haha.

Agree, I thought it was a bit strange, would have thought to play every team once before seeing the same team twice. But it is what it is, i'm sure there is good reason for it.

My old firend BOC - I understand where you are coming from but i think you're off the mark .... just a little.
In this day and age of limited umpiring numbers i don't think the GC, Bris SC argument stands up due to many umpires travelling outside their "home towns". I know for a fact that quite a number of SC and GC games are umpired by 2 brissy based umpires. The umpires from Redcliffe on the week end 1 was a very senior umpire from the sunny coast and 1 from Bris. I would like to wager that due to so many games (Div 1 and you boys) on the goldy this week end you will end up with "out of towners". It actually happens quite a lot that umpires from bris will travel (extra allowence woop woop) to the coasts depending on the week.
I know it may seem like "home town" umpires appreciate their local teams but it "just aint right".

Anyway just my thoughts and as per previous posts these are my personal views and in no way "reflect the views or are authorised by AFLQ"

So what your telling me Moro is that we can no longer be assured the luxury of gold coast umpires favouring us and effectively gifting us games but instead results will be determined by the best team winning and will be umpired on merit as the umpire sees it....

Sorry - I just cant comprehend that ever happening hahaha :)

As we have said many time before - everyone in professional and amatuer sport knows its the umpires fault whether they win or lose - you'll never ever persuade me otherwise moro ;)

Yes you're right BOC no matter what has happened in the past you'll just have to be the best team on the day and not rely on your mates from "the coast":)

Oh mate i know it's always the umpires fault just ask those unfortunate teams who have me on a weekend:D and i know i will never persuade you or any other player, coach or supporter of it being any different

Moro actually had a good one on the weekend, his mate pulled out a few doozys though... It's good to see that the umpires are already starting to slow down on the new rules like "diving in to the legs" and "arms up in the protected area" common sense is starting to prevail...

Nambour have a couple of 16/17yr olds playing. If the 16yr old is Lochie Laing - son of a gun and club legend at Nambour land, Mark Laing. Great to see the sons coming through of these old club stalwarts now.
