I dunno up until this year he was great in the air and he is intelligent plus a great tackler , slow as hell though so I could see him playing well there

He doesn't keep his feet enough or break enough tackles to play in the midfield at the moment , he looks like he is 32 ..

I don't know what to say about him , do we have grimes and trenners on the hbf cuz grimesy is a better defender

Wasn't slow when drafted - ran like he had OP this year (and last)

The other thing about Trengove from watching him as a junior, his best footy at Sturt in the SANFL was played off the half back flank, not as a midfielder.

Yeah I think I suggested earlier this year that we move him onto a flank and play him in the role that Hodge has played for the Hawks since about 2008.

Surely Trengove would have played HBF in the SANFL age 17 purely for that reason - I'm sure Sturt or whoever had plenty of older midfielders who could hold their own there without resorting to a skinny kid, talented though he is/was.

Conca - he is getting a pay reduction from Richmond and we have the scope to give him an increase... no brainer IMO. Should definatley talk to his management at the least

He now has to become a mid though. I dont think he is too far off having a much greater impact. Last 4-5 weeks was OK. In dire need of pace but i think he has been held back due to his foot issue in the pre-season. Relieving of captainship, full pre-season, gain of pace, new coach should lead to a much better season

Wouldn't have thought we have a need for a soft, temperamental, selfish player who would have trouble spelling teamwork or hardness let alone displaying any.
Was hoping those days were over but maybe we are so used to having that type of player we can't wean ourselves off them.
