They (the media) think we have traded out a future star.

Because we've given up pick 2 for pick 9 and a previous pick 3? More chance we'll have a future star with those two picks than a single pick 2. Even more so when considering that this draft is very even from 2-10 or so. Maloney's line is that we'll get someone with pick 9 that we would have been considering at pick 2, so ... win-win, surely.

But ... that's probably too much thinking required, and not nearly as sexy as "Melbourne Blows Draft Picks".

I agree.. and I dont confess to know much about the draft, but have heard from some people that do, that this draft is hit n miss.. even the top 10 could turn out to be just good ordinary footballers.

The clips I have seen of the top 20, nothing really excites me.

Time will tell.. and even if it falls in our favour, Barrett wont admit it.
