Putting the game aside for a second, today has brought with it the crushing realization that there's no more footy this year.
And the post-GF analysis will probably fall a little flat, too, there's not as much in terms of magic moments for neutrals, Hawks were so dominant.

McVeigh and Jack put in abysmal efforts. Supposedly these blokes are leaders at the club. Goodes stepped up like the champion he is though credit to him as did Buddy and JPK.

Thankfully we'll all forget about Hawks dominance in a few weeks (except for those of us who are Hawks supporters).

Far too good the Hawks.

Premier outfit in the comp and have been for some time now. Their style of play and execution is fantastic to watch. All their players made the right decisions with the ball in hand and are super good by foot.

Congrats hawks. Wanted it more from first bounce and completely shut down our midfield.
Just got back from the game and thing that hurts most is watching the lack of effort whilst staying to final siren - gonna take more than few cliches in press conference to earn back the respect lost today.

Good call except that last week the commentators were saying the same about Sydney. For me the reality is we had two superior teams this year and 2 or 3 others who were very good. In the end one team was able to dominate the GF. Sometimes you win 1 game, some times 2 or or 3 in a row, sometimes you string a lot of wins together, sometimes you lose one everyone thought you'd win. The results in 2014 certainly don't put Hawks above Swans.

It does in the context of winning the game that matters , who remembers who came 2nd even if they were the best home and away ?
