Jay Clark is a fool. The Dogs were fortuitous (if you can call your captain walking out on you fortuitous) enough to have their best player wanting to be traded, and even then they had to cough up a top 10 pick too.
That's insane for a 7 game player, and I doubt there are many clubs that will cough up that sort of currency to trade with them.
If anything, they've done exactly what we wanted to do, in making a statement that other clubs will have to pay massive overs if they try and poach contracted players.

He's still sniffing around if what he said at the end of today's interview is anything to go by - the recruiters from most (if not all) clubs will all be at Etihad tomorrow so who knows what might happen. I'm still stupidly hoping that we could trick the Suns into upgrading to pick 5 in exchange for 8 and 15 by offering them some glass beads in return (pick 30) but without that early 20's pick to work with it's not going to happen unfortunately.

Recruited Rhys Stanley and Mitch Clark, to go with Josh Walker, Nathan Vardy and Mark Blicavs(not much chop as a FWD). Then they still have Hawkins and Kerstan as permanent forwards, and Mcintosh and Simpson as rucks.

If the Boyd deal was already in motion, they would have never bid- then again Carlton would have bid had the Dogs not.
