Could we trade Pick 5 and 30 for an established mid or would we want to go to the draft? I wonder what GWS or GC would part with for those two picks...
What do you mean by established mid? If you look at what trades have been done already Beams & Griffen than not a chance on getting a player of this calibre.

Obviously a Greenwood or Christensen type is reachable but what's the middle ground and are the benefits there against using pick 5 on say Leverde.

Is a Prestia or Swallow in range, I'd think not a chance. Dylan Shiel or Toby Greene - maybe but not sure if Shiel wants to leave or if Greene would be in the Buckley mould.

Who are you thinking?

Now you mention it, I would like Toby Greene despite his potential to be a tool. I think he would be a chance to be on the trade table after his dramas and the arrival of Griffin plus another clutch of first round draft picks.

Nah there's only one team in danger of going broke, and Dayne Beams just walked into that shit joint.

The Dogs had to make a bold move and in the end it really only cost them their first pick, as Griffen is 29 and wouldn't have been around by the time they'd built up their list anyway.

Plus a million a year will be the average for the best paid player on a list in a few seasons, so they haven't really gone too far out here.

At worst Boyd will be Tom Hawkins like, at best he could be the strongest marking forward the AFL's seen in a long time.

Good move Doggies.
Can't stand Hawkins but he has good pace on a lead and knows how to use his body.

These two things I am yet to see in Boyd.

Just on that, I see Boyd as the traditional stay at home forward with that the only string to his bow...not a good thing when the speed of the game has effectively limited the impact of this type of forward.

Beams was Pick 5, 25 and Crisp.

Surely with Pick 5, 30 and Josh Thomas would could have a crack at a player of Beams calibre if they wanted out. Obviously there is only 4 hours left of the trade period so it would be highly unlikely.

Is there any that want out and I doubt we could talk one out of it in the last 4 hours or so

Hey mate, i was thinking of Shiel, Trealor, Coniglio or Devon Smith from GWS (dunno if any want out though and maybe McKenzie, Martin or Prestia if he wants to come back home.

Some of those guys have untapped potential and would slot straight in to our midfield. Obviously all this is wishful thinking.

I think certainly Treloar and Prestia would be off the table unless we were happy to part with something of real value. These guys are not easily replaced and all indications point to them becoming top tier midfielders in the competition in 2-3 years if not sooner.

I don't know enough about the others to comment sorry.

What would people think about getting Shaun McKernan in on a rookie contract? Have him there as backup for Witts and Grundy? Will effectively replace Hudson.

So let me see:
She laughs at collingwod for getting varcoe.
And now she insists on getting hunt.

Does she know anything about football?

Well she works with TAC Cup Radio as Boundry Rider. So she not Stupid.

Though I agree. Rather Varcoe then Hunt
