It is looking likely higher than expected turnover at the end of the season:

Delist/Retire
5. Maxwell (Already retired)
9. Clarke (Almost certainly to be delisted)
12. Ball (Retired at end of season)
21. Lynch (Retired at end of season)
25. Hudson (Retired)
38. Yagmoor (On the rookie list, but a likely delisting. Been at the club 3 season and hasn't broken through for a senior game in the past 2 seasons)
48. Mooney (Irish project player, was worth a shot for 3 seasons but hasn't come off. The arrival of Mason Cox takes his Cat B rookie place).

Borderline Departure
6. Goldsack (Looking likely to leave as a free agent, given Port's offer)
27. Armstrong (Spent most of the year in the VFL. Could be like Russell and only get one season)
28. Sinclair (Injuries killed his season and given it has been a problem in the past, the club may decide to cut it losses. Wouldn't have much currency to be considered 'Trade Bait')
31. Ramsay (Spent 2 years on the list and hasn't been impressive in VFL. May be delisted and recruited again as a rookie)
33. Karnezis (Hasn't been given a chance. But given the club recruited him knowing he was injured, you would think he gets another year as a minimum).
37. Martin (From some reason, Buckley does not rate him. I can see him actually wanting to explore other opportunities elsewhere).
44. Gault (in my opinion, he has shown nothing in 3 seasons. But given they have picked him to play this week ahead of Lynch , I shutter to think that Collingwood wants to give him a 4th year).

Trade Bait
1. Fasolo (Has flirted with a position change in defence but it hasn't quite worked out. Hasn't done much when put up forward too).
24. Thomas (Hasn't played as much senior footy as he probably should of. I think he probably has to stay now as depth given Ball's retirement)

Other
11. Young (Was given a 3 year contract, so as much as he has become a whipping boy on this forum, he will see out his last year at minimum).
Mooney still has 1 year on his contract.
Clubs can have up to 3 Cat B rookies.

According to herald sun we have a very tigh cap space. Can somebody pls explain to me how on earth we have a tight cap room with amount of players we have cut in the past 2 years plus the players who have left

Was a top 10 pick in 2011 but has not really played much at AFL Level.

Video’s:

Great Highlights of this kid. Even though he's vertically challenged he shows fantastic skills. Runs, tackles, wants the ball in his hands, kicks (both sides) and most importantly lowers the eyes for options. The question is why hasn't he developed and what will he cost us.

I think our guys could learn a few things from that vision. See how hard each of the youngen's were working for each other. Some great blocks to protect the ball carrier.

I think you might be surprised how much the quintet of Pendles/Beams/Swan/Cloke/Reid are on. All of whom have been agressively courted in the last years as contracts came up for renewal. We didnt lose anyone to GC or GWS, but we paid a price for that which is now coming home to roost.
But I think Ball, Didak, Jolly, Krak, Thomas, Shaw, Maxwell and Lynch leaving would free up a lot of space

Perhaps factoring in additional $$ for Broomhead, Kennedy, Grundy?
Also, maybe some players contracts balloon in some years? Maybe we pay Reid, Beams, Pendles, Cloke a larger slice in 2015 then it drops away in 2016??
Only the club really knows....although Eade did mention recently "our cap is tight". He should know, it's his job to manage.

I don’t think the Club would tell the Truth about our Salary Cap out in the Public Knowledge

It is not Eddies job as he is not a part of the football department

By my count,we've lost 9 senior players in the last 12 months, plus Wellingham and Dawes the year before that. That would easily outweigh any increase in salary to Pendlebury and a few others. Also, didn't Eade say something the other day about the club needing more leaders? It sounded like they were in the market for new players, but just who is anyone's guess.

Maybe some players get paid 800thousand first two years of there 4 year deal and 500 hundred thousand the next 2 that has'nt started yet :) understand

Just think about it. How exactly would journalists know?
1. They wouldn't hack into our system for such information
2. The sources at Collingwood in the know would never reveal this

So the logical explanation is that this info comes from either the club who wants player managers to think that we have a tight cap so we can negotiate to our benefit, or a player manager speaking to a jounralist and who has heard it from the club who was also telling them that to negotiate it to their benefit.

The other possibility is that the Herald Sun is just completely making it up. Which wouldn't surprise anyone, would it?

Now Port aren't interested, but the Crows are.

@BrettAndersonIF: Despite reports to the contrary, Port Adelaide has no interest in Magpie free agent Tyson Goldsack. A case of right state, wrong club? #AFL

Hello silly season.

Well Brett Anderson is 1 of the last I believe.

He always seem to do the Opposite to what other Jurno’s has done.

In Truth Jurno’s would have little Idea what is Really Happening.

I heard Greg Denham say he'd spoken to someone very well connected at Port & they are in to Goldy.
They may be denying due to wanting to focus on finals

Happy to take the 2nd/3rd round pick in the draft for goldy.

There will be some very handy players still available.

I'm hoping we can somehow garner a plethora of later picks to use.

There is no way Swan, Beams, Pendles, Reid and Cloke's pay has gone up but the amount that we have freed up. It is jsut the media talking shit

Agreed... We were still offering daisy 500k over a few years (3 iirc was what was being talked about)

To be able to do this they would have had to have factored in the increases in pay for swan beams pendles reid and cloke - thats 500 thousand alone... again we had Shaw and he wasnt on a great deal but is contract was a part of the cap after all those 5 guys had resigned so again unless Adams is getting paid what Shaw is then there should be a gap there

Finally im pretty sure Ball (after signing his unusual first three year contract), Maxwell (end of a three year contract), Lynch (his only contract with us so might have been resonable) and then any money Goldsack is currently being paid... Add to that the money that got cleared up to finish off Jollys only (and large) contract and Didaks contract ---

Its all unspent money under the salary cap

Can't see him being in our top 25% of player payments. We can hope for a second round pick but it would be touch and go.
What he's on now is irrelevant, it's what he's leaving for that the compo is based on.
