OK a few points here-

Dylan Shiel really? A decent midfielder in a rubbish team....How good is he really?

Jed Anderson has showed enough for me to consider him being a part of our starting midfield if fit. If Woodward keeps imnproving then he also will form a part of our starting mids next year.

Poor old Suckers has been traded to to every club in Australia on this site. My question.... if we think Suckers is trade bait then why are GWS or anyone else going to trade him into there club?

Mundy and Frawley in free agency could be a goer but any quality kid coming out of GWS or Gold Coast will see a bidding war and some club pay well over the odds to secure him.

Keep our first pick unless we are getting an absolute jet
Not sure I get your point re Suckling. If that was the thinking for opposition clubs no deal would ever get done. Having the reigning premiers willing to trade you out doesn't mean you wouldn't be desirable to other clubs.
As far as Shiel goes he has star written all over him. I'd happily trade Suckling and our first for Shiel but that wouldn't get it done IMO

3 other guys I'm just as keen on at the moment are via the 2014 National Draft. Lachlan Weller, Jake Lever and Caleb Marchbank.

FYI - Steven May has just resigned with the Suns for an additional 3 years.

So May has left Gold Coast for 3 years? Does that mean he's open to returning, just after 3 years?

Of the Draft, I'm excited about Corey Ellis. Not sure he'll slide to us but left-footed good kicking mid with versatile skill set.

What does that even mean ?
I think he means we have nothing they'd want (that we'd be willing to give up). But another club might want it and that other club may have something they're after.

Surely they owe us after we gave them Stephen Gilham?

Remember that Jed Anderson had basically walked out on the Giants and had told them he wouldn't play for them in a pink fit. Anything they got for him was really a bonus. I just feel a bit sorry for a former premiership hero that he can't get any traction in his career now.

Please note the sarcasm Dixie

What has been suggested that Shiel will prefer Hawthorn?? I think it's unlikely, he is equal to any mid they have including Trelor and Ward, he is a serious jet, sort of like a left footed O'meara.

Like I said previous O'rourke would be more likely, we should also look at Jaksch as a KPD, he has put contract talks on hold and is available in 2015.

I just don't understand the fascination with O'Rourke.

He's a number 2 draft pick who can't get a look in. He obviously has talent to go that early in the draft, and has played 3 games in one and a half seasons now. Also he's from Vic, so there is a chance he might want to come back home.

Thing is that despite not yet proving a thing at AFL level he will cost us just because he is a number 2 pick. Will the price be worth the risk?

As I've stated previously....you need to be more than just a former number 2 draft pick to warrant a game at AFL level.

Haha yeah, there's the tricky part. Whether we want him, and whether we could get him are two completely different things.

That's true, but look at Dom Tyson. Could barely get a game at GWS, and is a star at Melbourne with huge room for improvement. By no means does it mean O'Rourke will be any good, but he certainly has a huge amount of talent, and i have no doubt Hawthorn could harness that.

They interviewed Frawley on channel 10 and my impression of what he was saying was that he was leaving. He jokingly spoke about him getting old and wanted to see success. I don't think he sees that coming at Melbourne for a little while
