Port looked great but Carlton have had a serious lack of KPPs for some time, and that was really evident in the game today. If they had 3 Jarrad Waites they would be a much better team. As it stood, every time Port went inside 50 it resulted to a mark to one of their key forwards.

Port won't go as well against teams that have better matchups for Schulz and Westhoff.

There certainly is a lot to like about Port, but they'll have a hard time at home against Geelong, Hawthorn and Freo, plus the showdowns won't be easy this year. To rise up the ladder, they are going to need to win a chunk of away games against the likes of WC, North, Pies, Richmond, Sydney, GC.

The next 2 games ... the showdown and North away ... will be much better indicators than an average Carlton side without Judd.

They do have a pretty underrated midfield. Ollie Wines, in his second year, pretty played and controlled the inside game against the 'older' bodies. 30+ possessions with a goal in there. Don't forget Wingard, Hartlett (looks so similar to Fyfe) and Boak as well as Polec to the mix. Just need the consistency and find that away form recipe just like we have and anything can happen.

Port have gotten exactly what they paid for.
Boak - pick 5, Wines - pick 7, Hartlett - pick 4, Wingard - pick 6.
+Polec - pick 5 (this is the value), Lobbe - pick 16

That's better picks than Collingwood's midfield

And right when I thought this weekend couldn't get any better I just received an email informing me I've won 3 million pounds in the Johannesburg lottery. I don't even remember buying a ticket, how lucky can one person get!

So long povos, I'll wave to you from my new yacht in Monaco.

Pfft Johannesburg Lottery, why don't you just call it the poorhouse!

Gina Rinehart wants to be on my good side, biatches. What a charitable lady

A mission hey? She probably wants you to kill all Perth's homeless people as part of her humanitarian plan to end world poverty.

Anyone else been Ross Lyon'ed??

Half way through Geelong v Adelaide, it's been a frantic, high scoring, free flowing game with plenty of intensity and skills on display. It's a "great" game to most. But not to me, all I can see if leaky defensive structures and no accountability and thus can't enjoy the game as much as I should.

Yeah been pretty good so far. Wouldn't mind a Thursday game every week just as long as Freo aren't in it.

Unfortunately if memory serves me correct then I'm pretty sure we have a home Thursday night game at some stage during the season.

Wouldn't bother me night too much on TV not living in Perth anymore but it would suck getting to the game.

edit r19 against Carlton 6.10pm.

I still enjoy watching free-flowing games, but yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Half the AFL games I watch these days look like WAFL intensity to me thanks to the amount of time and space out there.

Will be interesting to see how Geelong supporters see Guthrie considering he's r*ped Dangerfield all night way worse than Crowley would have!
