Was going to start this up last week, but couldn't get on.

Hopefully discussion of pre-season training from the club and our own posters attending sessions, plus our annual camp to Utah will ease the pain and whet the appetite, in what is a long off season.

Today - Wednesday 6th November -1-4 year players commence training.

Friday 15th November - All players return. Depart for Utah.

Friday 6th December - Team returns.

A touch of Silver to start with, for good luck.

Thanks to Yianni;

Article on the recent time trial on the website.

Gibson won (unsurpisingly), Tim McGennis second then Basti, Atley and McMillan.

The Duke was 7th which is a great result for a 1st year!

So, first 2km time trial.

1. Gibson.
2. McGennis.
3. Bastinac.
4. Atley.
5. MacMillan.

McMahon and Petrie in attendance.

Benny on the bench pulls. Looking forward to seeing how he develops this off-season. Hopefully more conditioning focused.

A lot of the boys would have maintained their strength through a modified strength component during their break. Nothing strenuous, but enough to ensure that they can probably record/set a 1 rep max as a benchmark for the start of pre-season (probably for bench pull/flat bench). Looks like Jamie's pushing 140kgs.

Good to see Hat make an early appearance.

140kg, is that respectable for a 21-22 year old footballer?

Good to see the boys bulking up by doing some weights.
McMahon doesn't look In good shape from those little snippets.
First day back many players who have slackened off a bit too much need to work on their conditioning. There are a couple of players who returned today. All good for them to do the extra work.

McMahon has been carrying too much weight since about round 4 this year. His conditioning should be in check now so he is primed to try get a spot back in the best 22. He shouldn't be hitting his straps half way through pre-season.

Jacobs shouldn't go too heavy on the weights, need to get that aerobic capacity up big time and he can become a super player

LOL. Be concerned if McMahon hasn't "hit his straps" by February. As long as McMahon knuckles down from now on in he will be in peak fitness by round 1. :stern look

Speaking of straps, in today's Age article USC now refers to the "cash-strapped Saints". Someone should give the reptile a thesaurus for Christmas. You can defang a snake but the venom still remains.
