Yeah now that Dangerfield is playing for a Vic team he will most likely win a Brownlow. Then people are going to start banging on about how much he's improved at Geelong since moving from Adelaide. Bookmark it.
Every article reporting a win by Geelong will make a big, big deal about whatever contribution Danger made.

Thanks for posting

And to think that I was actually accused by one particular poster for Bullshitting

Amazing the truth you find when people actually check the facts
Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story. You claimed he's never had an uninterrupted PS. This is simply not true.

In 2013 he had a stellar PS, highlighted by a strong performance v WCE in an early March NAB Cup game.

When we were having this debate I accepted he had interrupted PS in 2014 and 15. Although 2014 was reported as minor surgery in late Jan, so the bulk of PS was completed.

So yes I agree, fact checking can produce some amazing results :)

Thanks for posting. Will have a listen. I wonder if Rucci will post another article about how poor it is from the Crows not getting Pyke in the media.

Roach - maybe the Crows just don't gift you interviews. Maybe if you stopped being a complete tool and endlessly promoting your own personal bias you might get interviews. Just a thought.
I love that we have effectively sidelined rooch. Caroline Wilson and other media have no problems getting access

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest, nor should it anyone else. Just media junk

We all knew he came to us extremely unfit. Get him up and running this year, get him through the season unscathed (hopefully) and assimilate him into our team and structures.

Next year we can put a bigger focus onto his midfield rotations. One thing at a time, baby steps. He's coming from a long way back.

Not really a big surprise. Carlton's professionalism was awful.

Menzel was never a hard worker and this reality shock might be the best thing for him. I'm hoping he is put in the SANFL for the first 6 weeks to prove he is determined enough to make the grade. No gifting of games to him here.

What more does he have to do than a complete a whole pre-season with the forward group to earn a spot in our FORWARD line?

That article seemed to suggest he is training with the forwards and has the fitness base to play forward and have short stints through the midfield. That's all the fitness improvement I could have hoped for tbh

Crows will make top 4 in 2016, bookmark it.

I'm enjoying laughing at the garbage on the mainboard. This club made a semi final in the worst circumstances for any team in modern football, i mean beside from half the side getting suspended. It honestly seems like people have forgotten that the Crows went on to make a semi final after our head coach was murdered ffs. There is nothing the Crows cannot achieve and I look forward to the Crows proving the doubters wrong and in particular wiping that smug narcissistic campaigner smile off Patrick Dangerfield's face while he is ridden into the dirt as his new club goes down by 10 goals.

Our players have a lot of improvement left in them. I think another 2 years minimum before we can challenge a flag. If we were to make top 4 we wont be able to find a win against more experienced teams like Hawthorn WCE or Sydney.

Yea, I'd say that article probably reflects badly on Carlton more than anything.

From what TSR said, Menz has been completing everything we've thrown at him. Due to Carlton he's starting from behind the pack, so it's not a surprise he isn't at the level of alot of the other guys. You don't build a midfielders tank in one year.

Don Pyke on SEN's breakfast show:
How's the difference in quality of the interviewers from SEN to 5AA .......big gap

Think we learn't Gore is back in the pack .......Don seems quite keen on Alex Keath

But he didn't try and hype the youngsters up .......like that, plus keeps something in his hip pocket

I like his comment that he is just "tweaking" the game plan (cough..bullshit..cough).

Our players may find their heads exploding with their fourth coach in just over a year. Four years ago the transition from Craig to Sando was very easy. We went from a complex (some might suggest overly complex) game plan to a get ball, kick ball approach. The players initially took to this like ducks to water but it lost it's lustre as opposition teams started to tear it apart.

I had the impression that Phil was trying to implement a new game plan in stages. I don't think we saw the final product but I loved where it seemed to be headed. The changes made by Campo seemed to be more about personnel and where they played and ironically he seemed to rely more on Danger who played less minutes forward under Campo.

As much as The Don says he is tweaking, the players seem to give the impression that it is a lot more than tweaking. We will find out quickly enough with our first 9 matches being even money or worse (e.g. we are currently $2.60 underdogs for round 1).

P.S. I'm loving The Don

Given we have won 4 out of the past 5 games against them, I am surprised by this pricing. In addition to the Roos never winning a Round 1 game under Scott. Even if the bookies are basing this on the hole created by Danger, its not like we dont have a player(s) that can cover that loss.

Don Pyke on SEN's breakfast show:

So dangerfield has been our best and most consistent player for the last 7-8 years? Classic Vic media.

Away game. I'd have us as favourites at home.

True. I did know that, I just think at the Dome with a fast track and with the speed now in our side we are definitely better than a $2.60 chance. I do think the odds should have been framed at around $2.20 for us.

I do think North are overrated personally. They got to W3 of the finals with a bit of good fortune.

North are evidently targeting a good start. The side we played in R1 last year bore no resemblance to that which ended in a prelim.

Will be hard

How's Don pyke going guys? What's the impression of him so far?
Players seem to like him so far, but it's early days. Say he's a good communicator, cool headed and hasn't lost it at anyone yet. Seems to have a more complicated gameplay in mind, at least in terms of team defense that the players are still coming to grips with. That'll take time I imagine, I remember Priddis saying something about it took them a good 18 months to get it all down as 2nd nature when Simpson and Pyke came aboard a few years ago.
