Wasn't o hot with the tipping last week, so hopefully can improve this week.

Hurstbridge vs Diamond Creek The Bridges were strong last week and at home should be able to exorcise the Demons for a solid win.
Lalor vs Panton Hill Both were a bit disappointing last week and at home the Bloods can get back on the winning track at the expense of the Redbacks.
Mernda vs Thomastown The Bears are on fire while the Demons are in the pits of a firestorm. Bears easily.
Fitzroy Stars vs Whittlesea. Match of the round and the Eagles will be looking to rebound from last week but the Stars will shine again.

Lalor lose a foward in mark, lets hope their ins will look after goal kicking machine todd hughes.

Lalor should bounce back after last week and have a handy win. You never know which version of Panton Hill will show up though.. Lalor by 35 pts

Stars vs Whittlesea
Stars need to start a lot better than the last couple of weeks. Whittlesea will be very hard to beat and it should be an entertaining scrap. Stars in a close one by 10 pts

Mernda vs Thomastown
Mernda played a lot better last week and will be desperate for their first win. Thomo have surprised all and can't be faulted at this stage, in what could be an entertaining game I think Thomo by 20pts

Mernda V Thomastown - Thomastown to win easily and keep top spot. Been such a great effort to do what they have done coming from div 3

Diamo clearly the better side on the day. Kept the new recruits quiet (Shaw, Tilley etc) and a couple of injuries for hurstbridge.

Thomo playing well but have won 4 close games. 4, 14, 7 and 4 points. Could have all gone the other way.


Stars still capable of anything on their day.


Lalor and H/Bridge both very competitive and would both expect to make finals


With a bit of luck and straight kicking creek could be on top.


Whitt to me have been slightly disappointing but might be taking a few weeks to adjust to Div 2 and would still be premiership fav for me come the business time.

hopefully he does get rubbed out as well. shouldn't be ever on a footy field again due to some of the things he has done.

probably a good reason he should not have been allowed back this year, just a dirty player (apparently challenging the red card/2 weeks sanction)

Interesting that they've decided to sign a number of blokes who'll play a handful of games at most next year, blokes like Conlon and Robinson (was with Mernda last three years - good bloke, wish him nothing but the best going forward). Probably thinking about finals in that case, where they'd be damaging if they got games then.

Smith was always going to be a target and NFL should have known that. It seems Mernda have also beeen victim of yet another punishment via video after the game, twice by Hurstbridge FC.

a thomastown player had to leave the ground due to blood streaming from his nose as a result of the clash with smith if I'm not mistaken though?

Just reading about this Smith guy as I'm from the EDFL, but if he wanted to keep playing footy and he goes ok why didn't he go to another league maybe, where people might not know him as I'm sure clubs & umpires are watching him closely..
Just an opinion,but I'm guessing to get him permission to play you had to do some work yeah?
