I don't get the gift thing, on the website it says that you have to be a gold, captains club or boundary member to get the gift. I am a Silver member and when I paid online I got to choose a gift item???

Just checked the PAP forum regarding their target for 60,000 they doing rather well and good on them where they all been for ten years but they are very confident cocky rather. They seem to forget that we've been shit on and off the field for two years and still had record membership and attendance. The Crow giant might not be fully awake at the moment, but he's awakening. I know of at least ten people who got their renewal letter Frudays and pain in full on the Friday.

With Fagan, and new blood in charge I can see the giant awakening very quickly and breaking new records! Fagan isn't hell bent on bring better than PAP; like they are with us, he's intent on bring the best club in Australia! We shouldn't be targeting 60,000 we should be targeting 70,000!

Looks like the club has changed the rules on putting memberships on hold and it's now a flat no regardless of circumstance.

A mate is pregnant and due during the footy season. As next year their focus will (understandably) on the child, they were going to put their membership on hold and pick it up again in 2016. They were told by the club too bad, you have to go back on the waiting list (the person she called to enquire about this was quite rude as well apparently).

I also note they've removed the paragraph I quoted the other week from the website. Classy move AFC shifting the goalposts mid-renewal cycle. My mate is considering contacting Consumer Affairs because of this recent change.

Pretty hard to get too many more than 60k with capacity crowd of 50k but lets have a crack....port seem to market the numbers better , why don't we have a count and advertise the fact that member dollars go to the club (well some of it possibly ) they should be making more media noise about membership noise and advertising the fact that we are better than port in this facet . At the moment it seems like port are better just because they keep telling people how much support they have when in reality we are beating them at this at least

Yes, I couldn't believe all the rubbish that went on about so many seats being undercover. You could easily see that wasn't anywhere near the case.
Lucky it hardly ryained last year , could be different story next year , on the flip side it might hail against Melbourne and we might win so overall you'll be wet and happy

What was the paragraph you quoted?

I didn't even realise you'd be able put your membership on hold. Seems unfair for those that are willing and able to fork out the cash for it. Especially now there is a waiting list.

Absolutely understand the predicament your mate is in and sacrifices definitely have to be made.

Are they still allowing members to put it on hold for unavoidable work transfers (overseas) or serious illness?

Actually I can see why they would allow it on a case by case basis. Having a baby I don't think would fall into any category that would amount to a hold on a membership. IMO neither would a work transfer but if it was me, I'd find someone who could use it (and pay for it!).

Probably serious illness would do it.

It's unfortunate but if your finances don't allow you the privilege of spending money on a club membership, the responsible thing to do is to not buy one. Expecting a club to hold your spot, with no financial commitment (I'm assuming that is the case) is unfair on that club. If the club has advertised otherwise, then absolutely they stuffed up.

There was a financial commitment but not 100% how much. I think it was 25% of the price of your membership.

This is what I quoted on page 2

Can I put my season membership on hold?
As season membership is currently at a Wait List, membership holds will not be permitted for season 2015.

The Club will consider applications to hold seats due to extenuating circumstances (e.g. in the event of health issues or extended travel due to work commitments).

These applications must be made in writing and contain attached documentation to support the application (letter from Doctor/specialist or employer). Any successful applications will incur a $90 on-hold fee.

All applications to hold will be subject to approval at the discretion of the Adelaide Football Club

Know where you're coming from but for my mate it wasn't a financial decision. It was more she doesn't want to take a newborn to games next season, but she would've been the first to take it off hold and resume her spot in 2016.

Apparently the membership department didn't even attempt to offer an alternative to her as well - they pretty much said pay up or we're not interested in keeping you as a member, which is very disappointing conduct from the club.

Pay up and give the ticket away each week that's what I have done in the past. How could they sell it to someone else for the year then give it back to your pregnant friend the year after? Just not practical for a sold out stadium and I think fair enough.

It's Essential Crows so it's an extra guest pass they can sell each game at a profit, plus the fact that they've said one thing then changed the rules when people query it.

Hopefully after the Xmas break this will be fixed up, but again, we are the only club out of 18, that has not updated supporters on our membership tally.

As most auto renewals kicked in last week, we should be up around the 40,000 mark. Surely in early January, the club will launch our memberships drive, we surely should be hoping for 70000 members in 2015.

Your mate should just on-sell at cost to someone else as should be no problem finding someone interested.

That's the path they're considering if they don't get a satisfactory outcome from the club. Between us we could easily get someone to use the ticket.

One thing is for sure, the Membership department could do with some major customer service training.

I have had some good experiences, but in other instances (and even when signing up crows nest memberships) I almost felt as though I had imposed on the 'service' representative. In an industry where your members are EVERYTHING this makes absolutely no sense.

Triggism.:p

Post delivered earlier today, and still no paper copy renewal invoice from the Club. I did phone them yesterday, asking what was going on, and was told they're off on holiday now, and won't be back until the 5th of January. If it hasn't come by then, I'm to ring the Membership Dept again, and they will take me through the renewal process.

I'm pretty much frustrated and annoyed by the ineptitude of this situation. Let's hope there's a lot of improvement next year, throughout the whole club. They don't get any Christmas cookie points from me.
