I hate the Crows but I do feel some empathy for them losing Danger. Losing Gunston, then Tippett - now Dangerfield.

Eventually clubs will just have to start recruiting players from their own backyard - like Fyfe for Freo - no 'go home' factor is ever going to be a problem there. I get the fact that you have to select the best available - but surely a caveat must be selecting players who will want to stick around when they hit their prime.

West Coast have been doing it for years. Almost every year their first pick is the best West Australian kid available. Adelaide would be well advised to follow that lead.

You have to feel for Melbourne tompas a number 4 draft pick likely to be traded, cant see him being worth much surely?

Heard this morning on Triple M that we offered Dangerfield $1,500,000 per year on a six year contract and he has rejected to go to Geelong on a lesser deal

Wow! We can't even give our $$$ away. What hope have we got of ever landing a gun?? At least we had a crack. But geez, it shows no gun is keen on coming to our club, unless they are a mercenary like Mitch Clark, and they are the type we don't want at our club. Go Dees!

Back to picking up C Grade duds like Melksham and paying them way overs!

They have, but I think it has more to do with where there picks have actually been. I mean, if we had a draft now and we had to choose between lets say Fyfe or Joel Selwood, both are great players, but I reckon we would still pick Fyfe, even though he is from WA. This is where it hurts a team like the Lions who have bugger all players from Queensland.

Straight swap for Lennon? ...how 'bout pick 11? A fair downgrade for a number 4 pick, surely?

You guys got an end of first round and a third round pick for Tambling, sounds fair.

I cant see us trading him for the sake of it, if there is an offer on the table and our recruiting staff thinks its fair then i'm sure a deal will get done.

At only 21 i'm sure there will be some teams out there willing to take a chance on him.

Nah people saying its likely to be a part of the dud melksham deal

The Lions problem with the go-home factor...

Lies and stats. Infographs are shit and bias by nature. Changing reference points throughout the entire chart to fit the narrative. Nah, I'm a scientist, that shit is plain to see.

I think half the players leaving Brisbane just use the disguise of homesickness but really just don't want to play for Brisbane. I don't like Brisbane but how do they become a better appealing club if the talent keeps leaving?

Dayne Beams is a much better player than all of the 10 players that have left though, so it's not all going against them. Tom Bell also expected to go home to Queensland.

Milkshake isn't worth $400.000

Nothing is credible i reckon by the end of the trade period out of all the 18 clubs trade threads there would be lucky to be 2 correct trades guessed as a whole

Yep, wasn't sure if you were just being a smartarse or not.

We'd be crazy to try and claim that we were happy with Toump's progress, but he still has time.

I'd like to think that even now, with just 3 seasons and a few injuries over the journey, Toump isn't far off what Melksham brings. So a straight swap seems reasonable. If the Bombres want more than that, then they can GAGF as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know why we're into Melksham at all. He doesn't improve our midfield by very much and will only take game time from our promising younger players who seem like they'll be past him in a couple of years.

I'd have him currently behind VandenBerg as our fifth best mid. By the end of next year, Brayshaw and Petracca will likely have passed him, if fit. Then there's Trengove, who could be very good also, if he can get over his navicular issues. Another year later and I'm hopeful that at least two of Neal-Bullen, Stretch and Harmes will have also passed him. So, two years into this alleged 4 year deal at $400k per, Melksham is likely to be our tenthish best mid.

Also, none of this includes landing Bennell or potential mids we get with draft picks over the next couple of years.

He's not even worth a contract. I was very disappointed he was offered a contract. I am absolutely stunned by Melbourne's alleged offer, so much so I've come here looking at thoughts of Melbourne supporters.

Go back a few pages and you'll find our joy!
