If the club was going to take grant would of keep our own hack

Jarrad Grant has been delisted. Worth a one year deal in the Preseason Draft? He's career sounds pretty similar to Jack Watts. Probably not the right fit, but what is everyone's thoughts?

Disagree. Grant is an absolute peaheart with very few quality attributes outside his mobility (Which is kinda irrelevant because he isn't strong enough to play tall), Fitz has shown a decent amount as both a defender and forward.

I just never saw it, to me he had more than enough time to prove he could make the grade and never got close in a team crying out for talent, from what you hear he's a good bloke and well liked I just don't think he's is good enough based on exposed form, if he does play at hawthorn well done to him but his time was up at the Dees

This. Having a 'play in case of emergency' ruck would've been very handy. Gawn, Spencil, Pedo/Frost/King? That's it? I thought we may have traded for a spare ruckman from someone else, but maybe we've got some VFL/SANFL/WAFL bloke lined up for a rookie spot. Or we have an unfounded faith in Gawn to stay fit for a whole year.

I'd say we're looking for a ruck in the minor leagues. Last season whenever we had a pinch hitter in the ruck it was diabolical, even if only for a few minutes. The problem with the minor league strategy is that a few clubs try to do the same, and the talent pool is pretty small

Ah, that's fair enough by him. I can understand not wanting to go through the rigors of a pre-season at 32 with slim prospects of getting a proper game.

I guess we're backing in Spencer as Gawn replacement and Pedo/Frost to provide relief .

Fitz is a long way 3rd behind McEvoy and Ceglar. He'll be lucky to get a game.

I thought Frost more than held his own as second ruck early this year. Wasn't necessarily winning the hitouts but he was making a contest at least and coming close to breaking even against Nicholls and Mumford.
