This trade period has been a spectacular car crash. Please get the Pelican back in. Clearly the current team is not up to it.
How is it a car crash?

Carlisle, Freeman & pick 14 for pick 5 sounds great to me..

how do you figure that?

did we walk away clear winners, no, pick 5 is hard to let go, but we got our 2 players we wanted at reasonable prices, enough points for Rice and next years 1st intact, all 3 players will make our team better. Isn't that enough of a win?

The trade period has been very good as far as I can see. Got a pick 10 for maybe about pick 30 and got a very good player at about equivalent to pick 9. Seems very good to me. We will get a pass mark for sure.

Drug scandals aside, I'd give the boys a B+ this year. Thought they did a great job in tough circumstances.
i'd agree, B+ about right, could be A tho just having to do all the legwork and scenario creation to get Carlisle done

For anyone questioning our trade period, just ask yourselves: is our list better now than it was 2 weeks ago. The answer is an unequivocal YES. And... We still have draft day to come.

We have proven we are now a destination club, and that sets us up for future years.

Don't worry about how other clubs went, just worry about us. And, IMHO, we did pretty bloody well!

In amet we trust

Oh well, get lachie next year ;)

@RalphyHeraldSun: The McCarthy trade definitely won't happen today. GWS ruled out making late play last night. Believe they can't keep losing required players
Interesting definition of 'required' given they've barely played him and will have a stacked midfield again next year. Eh, current events aside we've done well this trade period, still coming out on top.

At least we'll have a high active pick to keep the draft interesting.

If someone could let me know what Brisbane are doing getting rid of picks 17 and 26 for a plodder, 38, 40 and a future third, that'd be great.

They will take all the senior talent they can get.

For all the people talking about them losing the 'Go Home 5' and James Aish, they have brought in Christensen, Beams, Robinson, Walker, Jansen, Bell and Bastinac.

Draft Schache at pick 2, get Rockliff and Hanley fully fit and they start looking decent IMO.

I think this is what the total deal looks like:

LIONS
Out: Aish, 17, 26
In: Bastinac, 38, 40, Roos 2016 3rd, Pies 2106 2nd

NORTH
Out: Bastinac, 38, 40, 2016 3rd
In: 17, 26, 28, 47

PIES
Out: 28, 47, 2016 2nd
In: Aish, 34, 53

blues really swinging the changes hey? Might be terrible next season.
Could be a strategic move.

Can you get done for tanking in 2016 if you actually put it into place in 2015? ;)
