Could we get anything for Farren Ray or Gilbo?

No you don't, and I for a second do not advocate to trade Hickey, but if we want another top 20 pick he is one with currency. Apart from him who apart from the kids would get a top 20 pick?

It is a risk. if Longer goes down we have Holmes and backed up by Bruce.

We have lost Stanley and McEvoy as rucks over the past couple of years.

Maybe there would be others or a combo of others that would get us another top 20 pick, but I am not sure who.

Good rucks are always in demand, including by us.

I wouldn't trade him unless it's for a top 10 pick, not even for pick 11.
The big boys are the players you build your club around, we've seen so many examples of later players who are on ballers becoming guns, not many picks from 40-70 have become stars who are 200cm plus.

I also wouldn't entertain trading Gilbo, he deserves life membership with our club and will get it. Will be a ripper when we play finals again.

I think it's all based on opinion and potential isn't it Brian? Blake has shown signs at AFL level, more so at VFL level and has displayed his versatility, size and inside ball winning abilities at training. He'll take longer than the other young mids to hit his full potential but in my opinion the sky is the limit.

Pretty sure the plan was 3, round 1 & 2 picks per year over the next 4 years beginning 2013

Our blueprint was to increase our activity in first 3 rounds of draft by 50%.

VFL is VFL, I like Blake but don't think it's realistic that he is being talked about as better than Lonie, Sinclair etc at our club because as of right now he has not shown anywhere near the form or ability of those lads.

If you are involved at the club you will know that 'potential' is a dirty word in the inner sanctum.

we wouldn't have the 20th pick though we will have around 23-27ish, and we would have around the 4-8 pick depending on how everything goes this year.

gotta pick BPA and not reach on plows 20th pick

he's worth more to us than he is worth to any other club because theirs nor runs. would rather see 10-15 others go from a club first

Totally agree. I think people jumped on the Pendlebury comparison, because he has a bit of height about him and has a similar running style. While he has been okay, and I think he'll be a 200 game player, he's shown nothing to suggest he'll be another Scott Pendlebury.

you would also know that the club believes internally that Acres will be a top 5 player for us...REGARDLESS of what has been shown

Got to say Billy Longer has really suprised me, been fantastic. Also note that I haven't room for DMac, Goddard, Eli, Paddy, Saunders etc.
we are now seeing the fruits of going to the draft.
Add in another handful of picks this year and next and it will be outstanding by the time Montgana and Roo hang them up.
