Has worked hard on his intercept game, and his distribution, so if he's Delaney now, his ceiling is perhaps Lake.

More dour than attacking at the moment, but comfortably keeps up with the big KPDs and is built like the proverbial outdoor toilet and is (very surprisingly) one of the youngest in the draft class... If you can believe it he's a December baby.

Thats whats so exciting. Hes only 17 and from what i read he held his own against shache.
You think he'll be there between 20-25.
Would you take him with our 2nd pick?
What about Gresham? Speed? Skills?

Since we're getting a father-son this year, we actually have to give a damn about the stupid new points system. So let's look at it that way.

Right now the Bombers have picks 4, 23, 25, 44 and 62. All these picks have a points value.
Saints have 5, 24, 45 and 63.

Pick 5, sadly, is probably going to Essendon. Not a good time to be a top 5 player. We need value back because Carlisle simply isn't worth 5 on his own.

A return of 23 and 25 was knocked back. So let's get canny. Start with 25. 23 would be nicer but Dodo likes to live up to his name. Either one is much of a muchness.

Will Essendon use pick 62? Probably not. We'll take it.

What about 44? They'd have 4, 5 and 23/25. Do they really see themselves taking 4 players in the draft (or making another genius Cooney trade)? Might as well ship it off to us.

23/25, 44 and 62. Gives us a war chest of points for Rice (picks 43, 44 and 62 gives us enough to thwart a pick 20 bid by Carlton), enough so that we can chuck in pick 63 to look magnanimous.

Picks 5 and 63 for Carlisle, 23/25, 44 and 62. We draft at 23/25, pick up Rice, upgrade Sinclair and done. Could work.

Look, I'm not for it, but it's not the most ridiculous rumour I've heard.

IF we wanted to trade Hickey, and got a decent pick back, we could afford to drop a pick from the Injectors deal and we'd still need a readymade ruck/fwd; Giles has shown ability in this role (54 games 40 goals), and it's not his fault Hird was brain dead and decided not to play him. The problem is more that he's as athletic as a concrete slab.

If we see Pierce as a genuine ruck/fwd option longterm, then it makes loose sense.

Pierce will be a better ruckman by next year i reckon.

I wasn't exactly singing his praises, but stand by what I said.
He was pretty silly taking away our major bargaining tool (PSD) for a while there.
