IIRC, Hanley played a largish chunk of the first quarter of the intraclub in the forward 50. We have midfield depth, and a number of these guys are great ball winners and goal kickers. It certainly won't be just Rocky spending more minutes up there. Rockliff, Beams, Hanley, all midfielders who can be outstanding forwards. It could well be the key to success.

I'd love to see Beams play a bit further forward of the ball this year. It felt like he always had a pack of players around him in 2015. He makes an excellent inside midfielder, but hopefully we can get others in that role.

He kicked a goal a game at the Pies. We need to get more of our potential goalscorers into damaging positions.

I can see us taking our chances with a "second best" midfield. We'd love all of Rocky, Beams, Hanley & Rich in there together, but at some point each has to rest. We may be better off matching up Basti', Bell, with Beams & Rich, while Hanley &/or Rock wait for the ball forward. When it's their turn in the middle, Beams plays inside 50. A slightly weaker midfield than our best, while greatly improving the forward line could be just the ticket.

Hanley has to be play back and mid. Enough mids can also play forward. Our backline will get a lot of ball and we need some talent there

Bastinac while he is not the marking forward that Rocky is can certainly play up forward, lock the ball in and crumb a goal from a stoppage. Has good goal awareness like Beams. Actually you can see from last years recruiting especially that we have targeted players that have an ability to lock the ball inside forward 50 very well.

Definitely not what we needed. Hoping he does play round one but hoping even more gets his shoulder back to 100%.

Are you referring to Josh Clayton? If so not even close at this stage. Needs to perform consistently well in the reserves over a long period to get a look in I would have thought. Has the likes of Zorko, Christensen, Bell, Green and Taylor in front of him.

If you mean Josh Clayton, then I would suggest it is very unlikely he will play seniors unless we have another year of injuries (entirely possible!)

Sorry mate, yes Josh. I like his athletic ability and seems like he has all the traits, but obviously you lot have a solid and experienced midfield so that would be tough to break.

You forget to mention gaining rich back in the guts. Rockliff has proven he can take one on one grabs and can kick goals. With our midfield we could seriously look at getting nearly 3 full quaters of forward time out of beams and rockliff alone. If this happens and we move the ball like we want then we could just about expect 3-4 goals a game from them 2 alone. Having goal kicking mids playing in the forward half is a no brainer. Christo beams rocky kicking goals. Rich basti hanely serving it on a platter. Ideally we wont see rocky and beams in the same forward line so with one of those in the middle we should still have plenty of class delivering it inside fitty.

I like this, I've always been of the belief that we should not be playing 3 true key position players. Walker + Freeman is who I'd pick
