Need to remember teams don't know what the salary cap is going to be next season and are trying to best guess what it is going to be when making list decisions

Made up article. Basically just cut and pasted from the podcast to fill page space and there is no real info re salary cap. Standard of afl journalism isnt great currently. That said i dount barlow comes here.

I think he may just end up at Adelaide

HT needs to play forward I would be comfortable with the defence of Bews, Lonergan, Kolodjashnijj, Thuoy, Henderson, Thurlow.

Jonty Scharenberg at 38, SPP at 24 and all tall Backman at 42

I don't think the club would look at Scharenberg or Powell-Pepper. That's not to say they won't, I just don't think either of them are the type that the club traditionally go for.

We could do with a touch On Baller that can kick goals. Scharenberg would be like a Joel Corey type player. Just remember we tried to get Lids so obviously we need a midfield addition maybe two now that Caddy is gone. And those two are perfect. Still I wouldn't mind Brennan Cox as he would slot right in. This means Taylor can play forward. Take B.Cox at 24, Scharenberg at 38 and Graham at 42

Agree we need some more young mids not sure we'll go with the ones listed above though.
Deledio was being recruited to play half back and possibly forward. I don't think he will play many more midfield mins.

Didn't Cedric spend all of 2016 living in VIC?

Yes but he boarded down here for footy he is from WA and is a cousin of SPS. I am not keen on freo doing us over at his first contract renewal like has happened with kersten (second contract renewal in his case). If SPS gets taken by freo or wc i would therefore be reluctant to draft cox. Can really play though.

Reading through Inside Football, and apparently Freo are interested in House. Apparently he used to play reserves footy in the WAFL with Claremont before moving east.

Yeah he did come from WA originally and Freo do need key forwards. That said he is a very raw prospect and a rookie at best, I doubt any other club would pick him in the national draft. Stewart is different because he is afl ready and pretty plug and play so I can see him going in the national draft.

Apparently very settled in Camperdown. He has developed a close connection with many down there. The risk is minimal for Geelong.

We heard similar ideas about kersten being settled here too. I would weigh up the risk and tend to be risk averse. Dont get me wrong i rate him as a player though. If SPS goes to a victorian club i would then be fine taking cedric.

Also needs to be considered that Kersten was looking for greater opportunity as much as anything. Going back to WA and playing with Hamling just ticked even more boxes.

You are right though, SPS being in Victoria will help in regards to Cedric Cox. Talk gathering momentum of Carlton being keen at pick No.5 too. As much as I'm warming to Cox, I've still got many questions about his footy. The scope is there though. The biggest risk I feel with him is using an early 2nd round pick in a draft with good depth in this position.

with respect, there was speculation very early on that Kersten might return home...I wasn't the least bit surprised he left to go home.

Then we should go for APENESS. Must be coming ooc next season, and he won't stay in WA forever.
