● He actually made his debut in 2009 so that's 8 seasons including this one...

During that time he has played 99 games which works out to be an average of 12 games a season...

It seems that every year his out injured for at least a few weeks... Also if he's already reached his ceiling (which he obviously has) then it's not very high and perhaps its time to move on...

● Tim O'Brien is GREATLY overated, only had 2-3 half decent games in 4 seasons and as good as a kid as he seems it would be counterproductive for us to retain him when we could place him in the open market and get something of worth back for him...

● While it is common knowledge that Brand has had injuries he has only played 11 games in 4 seasons so how much we should be waiting for his "potential" to get him in the side... Even once Gibson retires, is Brand really good enough to replace him???

Also he still remains uncontracted beyond this season which appears suspect...

I feel that we as a club are at a cross roads and sentimentality is no longer a luxury that we can afford, we do need to make some tough choices going forward to not fall too far behind the pack...

* Also in relation to your following comment " Ollie Wines does not make the team better than having Brand Schoey and TOB does" I strongly disagree because they have only played 4, 14 and 11 games respectively where as Ollie Wines has played all 22 and his output would outweigh all three players in question combined...

If Brand hadnt done his shoulder last year he would have got his debut.
Again judging these kids on how many games they have played as developing KPP in premiership team with guys like Lake and Roughhead keeping them out and comparing that to someone at a bottom 10 club is stupid.

Wines is good but he's not decimate your young KPP depth good, nobody is.
I don't think he is what this club needs either. Now you don't have to replace KPP in the same deal but if you want to propose 3 talls for one small you better add some other trades or FA pickups to replace those three talls as part of the package or you're going to have a bad time.
You proposed a trade that made the club weaker, that you don't see it is part of the problem.

I reckon he could push for a 4yr deal for $1.4m at Pooort. It's probably overs, but they've just lost Carlisle, Butcher & Schulz. Treng(r)ove & Brand could play together for the next 5-7yrs at FB/CHB so they could well be great partnership. It's worth paying for.

I just watched the girls play, and Katie Brennan is a better kick than Danger, Selwood and Dusty combined. Wowee!

Shoey isn't injury prone, your 99 games in 8 years is because of 12 months out with an ACL, 4 months out with a groin, and being stuck behind Lance Franklin, Jarryd Roughead, David Hale and Jack Gunston. Hardly an easy task to dislodge that group that has 12 Premierships and 1,756 goals between them.

If Brand is keen to go to Adelaide, I'd like to see him in a trade that sends Talia the other way.

Other than the fact this was posted at 4am I think this is a real good trade, the minor edits I would make are removing the 26 and 39 element of the Barlow trade and maybe sneaking in a small pick upgrade to GC in the second part (could be achieved by giving our second round and getting GCs 3rd in return). Either way love your work, Hartlett, Barlow fresh starts up north, GC getting players not picks albeit nothing special but will certainly make them competitive and finally TOB to replace Schulz.

No way can we trade out a 10-yr KPD for a flashy HFF/FP.

If we lose Brand to Port then it has to be in part of a trade that covers our ruck issue (I'm assuming that McEvoy is gone).

Brand + TO'B for Lobbe + 1st.

Something like that. Even then, I hate it as I really rate TO'B & don't want to lose him...

I can see you're point but even when he has played (bar the couple finals games last year in which he killed it) he's shown bugger all...

Once again, difference of opinion and happy for him to prove me wrong and lead us to the fourpeat!!!

I don't think you need to execute one trade to meet all your needs, you have to play with the other teams supply and meet your needs through other trades. In saying that as you pointed out they have Lobbe and we are needing a ruck, not the player I would want as his just got that big boy look about him, but could certainly do worse.

Been used at both ends of the ground in his 3 years and is likely to push through the midfield in the near future, has that Hawks Flexibility about him already
