Stewart to Carlton a done deal weeks ago and don't think for a minute Tomlinson is staying for sure blues into him big time.....players don't lie.....do they?

That's nice. Weird he didn't just nominate a club then. Nervous?

I really hope it's not Carlton. That's just taking the whole WSU Blues to new and depressing depths.

North would be a good fit moving Petrie on and, correct me if I'm wrong, but we've never traded with them before. Another first for the year?
Correct, North are one of the few clubs that haven't recruited a former Giant.

I like Stewart but we have a couple of potential key forwards who are yet to debut so I doubt it will be us.

More likely to go for a fringe mid that we fancy, perhaps someone like Barrett.

At least this thread is entertaining.

Bruest would be a great addition. Another left field player that would be a great fit would be Ebert. Tough and competitive, can play midfield and forward.
Gws don't need any free agents/trades they will be a powerhouse as of next year onwards especially with all the concessions they've got and still to get.Credit for the list build but seriously couldn't have been that difficult with the amount of picks.Too much talent to squeeze into 22 their only problem in my opinion is that they don't play as a team yet.Little bit selfish at times and lazy.

Wow. I actually buy that you are genuine with these comments. All I can say is you have NFI. 'Old Clueless Benaly'

Time for you to leave buddy. This is our board.

You need a tissue?

Amusing you forget to mention all Carltons benefits.
I guess we should of tanked and cheated like the blues.

Hmmm, so the point from our Carlton 'friend' seems to be - don't allow GWS to trade anyone because they're already strong? I guess he's got the idea from the AFL with their Swans trade ban. Didn't notice that being applied to Hawthorn during their 3-peat. The job of every club is to win the premiership. Not in to 'make up the numbers' - in it to win it. So GWS should do whatever is required to win. That's not going to please other clubs - because they're doing everything they can to win it themselves! Other clubs will be aiming to rip us off during trades based on whatever lever they can use - appeal to players, TPP issues etc (i.e. like Carlton did last year). It will be interesting to see how GWS jumps this trading/drafting period - what is the mix of experienced player trade-ins, academy draftees & non-academy draftees.

It's on this thread a lot, we have so much why should we care.
I think they fall into 2 camps
Jealousy that is worthy of contempt, and a genuine fear of the future. To me the former deserves contempt, I actually have some sympathy for the latter. As you get older it tends to permeate yur thinking and it takes.discipline to suppress it.
.

The Swans ban was the reaction to Buddy.

The reaction to our season will be acceleration of list reductions.

Next year will be changes to Academy Rules which will either curtail our rights to Murray and/or Riverina boys and/or boys who go to school in Vic and play in the TAC cup.

Some thoughts from the under 18's game today.

*McLuggage is a Rolls Royce and a deserving number 1 pick - AFL ready
*Ainsworth is a really high quality small forward/mid - AFL ready
*Taranto is another quality mid/small forward, bit of Pendlebury about him - AFL ready
*McGrath didnt really dominate like he has but showed some spark. Has really good run and is a bit Zac Williams like.
*Scrimshaw had some classy moments, moves really well - AFL ready
*Perryman is unfashionable but clever and has a big boot on him - Will break through into some firsts by the end of next year.
*Sproule is a nice player, beautiful kick and plays with smarts, won't play in 17' but will break through in 18 with two pre-season's under his belt
*Marshall I thought was disappointing. Looked a bit lazy, didnt get it as a consequence and i dont like his narrow shoulders. Seen more of him now and whilst he does some freakish things I don't think he's needed.
*Isaac Cumming, didnt know much about this Academy kid but he played quite well particularly early.
*Oliver Florent got a heap of it and will be the big jumper after this game.
*Shai Bolton, really liked the look of him. He is going to be one of those guys that doesn't get a heap of it but does special things. Running style resembles Michael Walters.
*Sam Petrevski-Seton and Jack Bowes got a lot if it...not my style of players but they will bith go very early. Heywood had a massive boot on him. Someone will take a chance on Tony Olango and in a couple of years it will look a steal!

Tim English is years away.

just seen a bizarro trade proposal on Twitter that GWS have supposedly made to Freo. Fyfe and a picks for Patton, 7 and 31.

Either Trade Whisperer is trawling some strange BF hypotheticals or someone is doing very heavy trolling.

Makes no sense from our end, except at salary cap end but we'd get a better deal from a Vic Club for a marquee player, surely.

That won't happen but would still be a win for GWS. Most clubs would trade anything for Fyfe

Gotta disagree

Dont think selling the farm for one player is something we should be doing, no matter how good he is. I was against the Buddy fa and would be against Fyfe as well, for what we are supposedly offering.

Didnt work out well for the Suns when they rolled everything on GAbblett.

Goes against what we are building.

Here's the Twitter thing Ellie was referring to. One of the biggest loads to tosh I think I've seen. The only vaguely interesting thing was the reference to Lobb indicating he wants to stay.

No idea who AFL Trade Whsperer is but seriously....?
Sounds like tosh to me too. Squashing the Lobb rumours and making up Patton/Fyfe rumours instead. Can't see any GWS or Freo fans buying that.
Half the AFL world saw Patton kick 4 in the prelim so he's hot property after being called a liability for most of the year.

Do people honestly believe this nonsense? Some random knob, says he's an "Industry Insider" makes up whatever he likes and has people eating it up. I hate this time of year.

If General left GWS the ONLY reason would be to get home to Victoria.

Why would you go through all the struggles, get yourself better, start being a genuine force, and then leave all of that to trek 5 times further from your family and play for a celler dweller with no chance of challenging for the duration of your career??

It doesn't make sense because it is complete balls.
