Millsy also blamed Freo's culture for the reason that no one wants to come here - what's his f**king deal?!
Think you are being a bit over-sensitive re Millsy - I also listened to what he had to say this morning - think he was more asking the question rather than blaming! The problem both of our Clubs have in luring players from the East is the travel factor, even if the player is home-grown;)

What are everyone's thoughts if we relook at A Pearce position and move to rotate him and Apeness as rucks/fwds long term? similar to rough and Boyd? A Pearce has proven to be pretty handy up forward and has enough height for a ruck

Add English and you spine and you have a lot of versatility

Content with all the changes.

A deep cut but it's for the best, Deluca is maybe the only one I'd consider picking up again.
Both Grey and DeLuca have been told they might get drafted again - probably on rookie list BUT do we make a clean break and bring in 4 new rookies to join Uber and Nyhuis

That means there's no one down back but Dawson and collins

I still don't think we'll trade down with our pick #3 and I personally don't think we should either. Go to the draft and get the best elite talent available for pick #3. The pool of these elite players isn't that big so downgrading will almost certainly push us to the next tier or we won't have the luxury of picking the best talent that is also the best fit.

This draft has a good pool of top tier elite talent (ie top 6 or so). The next tier probably spans all the way into the mid second round. And from mid second round there is still plenty of good talent generally non-primary KPP specific positions all the way to about the end of the third round. From that point it becomes very speculative but like Yarran and even Collins last year there is gold to be found still. You look through phantom drafts from only a few short weeks ago and there are numerous players that weren't even on the list who are now picked as high as top 25 (eg Cedric Cox). There is obviously talent we don't even know about that we can spend a late/rookie pick on with minimal consequence if it doesn't work out (eg we could find another Neale).

10 list changes even before trading commences is a lot to replace but break it down in to 5 national draftees, 1 psd and 4 rookies and it isn't that daunting. Mayne and Ballas adds two but we'll likely get McCarthy and Hill back to balance. If we were to trade Silvagni, Barlow or Suban then that is 3 extra picks or alternatively upgrades of our existing picks but also 3 more spots to replace so I'd be very surprised if we let all three go. And if we still need more picks or currency to get the types of players we want then we can use future picks and given we are now more likely to use our 1st rounder in the draft next year we could trade it in or alternatively one or more of the later picks.

If at the end of the off season we have one of the best talents from the draft (using #3), McCarthy and Hill that's still three players to push in to our B22 that are better than the 9 we delisted. If we can't find a couple more better than those 9 from our remaining picks I'd be surprised given our success in the last two drafts.

Shows he's rebuilding? He's just pulled down the whole damn house. What do you think he'll be doing?
I agree. That's why getting rid of him next year because of a bad year would be ridiculous. He would want to give a glimpse of a more modern game plan though.

Leading patterns and timing are an issue..... He is strong fast and can obviously bring the call to ground

Perhaps without that bloody Pavlich running across him and demanding the ball - he might come good.

In all seriousness though, I wish to God they all wouldn't lead or pack to/in the same place. A bit of system and understanding would be nice.

Perhaps having the stoppage coach as a forward coach wasn't the great master stroke we all thought it was.

I think Ross will be gone ,if result dont pick up 2017.
Nah. Everyone from the top down at the club know we're in a rebuild. We'll have more pain over the next two to three years while we're still turning players over like Mundy, Sandi, MJ, Dawson, Spurr etc. As supporters, we want results now but realistically we have to be patient and can't judge the list until 2019 when we've had a god go at the draft and given them a few pre-seasons.

Also, will cost the club a lot of $ to pay out Ross's contract.
