2-WCE 17-5
3-Melb 17-5
4-Adel 16-6
5-Syd 15-7
6-Dogs 15-7
7-Coll 14-8
8-StK14-8
9-Ess 14-8
10-Hawks 10-12
11-GCS 10-12
12-Geel 8-14
13-Freo 8-14
14-North 5-17
15-Port 5-17
16-Bris 5-17
17-Rich 4-18
18-Carl 1-21

So, this isnt how i think it will actually pan out, but going round by round was interesting.
I dont seen Melb finishing top 3, nor the Swans not being top 3.
Geelong will win more than 8, but i dont think much more
And i doubt Carlton only win 1 game

But i dont think my top 8 is far off. just the order is out

I have no ferkin idea how the ladder is gonna look at the end of the season .... but here's a tip.

Swans and GWS will finish in the top 4 and Dogs will be thereabouts. Saints will improve but not in the 4. Bombers may shake a few teams during the season. Eagirls will struggle to make the grade. Dockers are making up numbers. Pies may miss out on finals ... not rated. Crows should be in the 8 with Cats. Who knows what's gonna happen with the Dees and Hawks. Dees maybe the 8 and likewise Hawks.

I keep hearing Moore is a gun, but no, he's not. He does one or two fantastically athletic things per game as he goes on his way to 6 or 7 disposals. He has great potential, but he's presently a mile off being a "gun".
Lol he is only 21 years old and had to take the best defender last year and will have to this year as well, considering that - he does alright.

So he's not yet a "gun" of the competition ala West Coast's Kennedy or Gold Coast's Lynch ? You know, which was my point.

Hogan is not yet a "gun" of the competition and his output is presently miles ahead of Moore's.

If Jesse White was as good as some are claiming I would have thought with his big body he would be getting the #1 defender other then the skinny developing Moore;)

I dont think anyone has asserted that he is on the same level Lynch or Kennedy.

The reason Moore is rated so highly internally as a young up and coming player is about more than just looking at his statistics. Firstly for a young bloke he is a terrific leader, he always makes the right play, will always give it off to someone in a better position and will always do the hard runs. He doesnt appear to play for himself, which is in contrast to a bloke like Hogan who tends to sulk when he isnt getting the ball.

Secondly, a little known fact, last season was his first season playing as a complete forward. His entire playing career he has played mostly as a defender, so he is still learning how to play as a forward. That combined with his freak size (still growing) and athleticism, his ceiling can potentially be viewed as much higher than someone like Hogan.

No one rates Jesse, its a myth from other clubs that he is rated internally. Everyone thinks he is subpar, he is viewed very similar to how Vickery was viewed at Richmond

Hogan was a CHB until 16. So because he has leant the game and adapted much quicker than Moore his ceiling is less?

I suspect its more the black and white goggles.

But everything you've just said in that first paragraph could be said for half a dozen young players, including the league's perpetual whipping boy, Jack Watts.

Sure, Moore is a good young player who might one day be a great player. But saying him and Grundy are guns - remembering Grundy in his best season couldn't even convince AA selectors to have 2 ruckmen in the 40 - is giving them credit for a possible future in which everything goes perfectly.

Oh I agree, but in this very same thread some of your magpie brothers strongly disagreed to us rating him as a hack.

He was referred to as a "gun" not "potential gun" hence my post.

I'm aware if Moore's attributes, but I believe he's a few years off taking the competition by storm.

As for "ceilings" ? Imo Hogan is the better "footballer". Hogan is almost becoming underrated around here. His smarts, ability to outbustle his opponent, timing of leads, ground balls, field kicking and handballing are first rate for a power forward.

Moore is incredibly athletic and can take a great grab over the top, but I'm yet to be convinced he's a great "footballer" or has the ability to master all aspects of being a key forward. There's certainly no guarantee he'll ever be as good as Hogan, who I expect to go to a new level this year.
