WB to drop out of the 8 champion data rated them the top 2 side in the comp and they are going to drop out and melbourne and st kilda in interesting logic I do believe Melbourne or st kilda could finish in 8 but nowhere near top 4 especially melbourne. Couple years early I believe

I see the Bulldogs as a side who's jagged a premiership before their time, similar to Hawthorn in '08. Damn promising, but i see them taking a step back this season.

I like what Melbourne and Saints are doing, and seeing that a couple of the old guard in the top 4 (Geelong and Hawthorn) both look like dropping, this is as good a year as any to see a jump like that.

1. Richmond
2. Collingwood
3. St Kilda
4. Melbourne
5. Essendon
6. Carlton
7. Western Bulldogs
8. Geelong
9. North Melbourne
10. Fremantle
11. Port Adelaide
12. Adelaide
13 Gold Coast Sun
14. GWS
15. Brisbane
16. Hawthorn
17. West Coast
18. Sydney Swans

Richmond to go out in straight sets. St Kilda to win the premiership. With the bonus benefit of every single Victorian based club being in the finals, that's how it should be. Interstate teams go form your own bloody league.
This is plain crazy. Freo won't get as high as 10th. 12th at best.

I did the ladder predictor and pretty surprised by how much the fixture actually affects the ladder prediction. I had:

1. Sydney
2. Western Bulldogs
3. GWS
4. West Coast
5. Adelaide (missing by percentage)
6. Geelong
7. Melbourne
8. Essendon (extremely easy fixture)

9. St Kilda (Didn't realise that their fixture was this hard)
10. Richmond (Also have a soft fixture. Their second half of the season is a dream run)
11. Collingwood
12. Hawthorn
13. Fremantle
14. North Melbourne
15. Gold Coast
16. Port Adelaide
17. Brisbane
18. Carlton

Only 1 game difference from Melbourne to Collingwood

Yeah I agree would not surprise me to see hawthorn or Geelong missing the 8.
But I'm not concerned with the dogs backing up led by some very experienced players going around for a a last time. They project to be even better with all the inclusions from last season Crameri, Wallis, Adams, Cloke, Redpath a fit suckling and jong lol,

And collingwood won't be 17th the only thing I can guarantee too much midfield talent to lose that many. One thing for Melbourne and st kilda to make the 8 top 4-5 very unlikely west coast rates to make the 8 at least I believe but we shall see when the real stiff begins

He would distract opposition defenders from Hogan and would be able to give Weideman a bit more time to develop by having a more experienced player in the team instead. Is a capable defender when needed due to his strong marking. He'd be on your bench.
Jesse White wouldn't be in our 22 anywhere.

Jack Watts is far superior playing the third tall role and is actually a threat himself to kick multiple goals and set up others and be more than just a decoy like White.

No.
Hes a decent 3rd forward/ruck relief who has missed some crucial sitters in front of goal in seasons previous to the last one.
No he's really average. Have watched him closely since the last time a collingwood supporter tried to talk him up.

2016 was a big improvement for him but he's only getting mercy praise. Collingwood would upgrade him tomorrow if someone was on the market.

Lucky Jesse White wouldn't play as your third tall then. He'd play at CHF sitting behind Hogan, whilst pushing up the ground when needed. Best 22.

He's mitch brown on double the wage.

Feels good to know we got more out of Mayne already in three pre-season games than you got from Yarran in a four-year deal.
Agreed, but you are paying half a mill per year for a very ordinary player, plus how much for that kid Wells. True Yarren walked from his contract- for reasons well known. He will cost us nothing from here on in.Your desperation is showing to mention a mental health issue.

If you don't see the quality in Wells then I'm not sure what you're watching. Mayne is on a questionable deal but reality is, the deal has happened. We were required to fill an obligation to pay the salary floor, which a player like Mayne helped us do. I don't like the deal; no one does, but I don't care because he improves the team. That's all we needed.

At the rate Wells is going he may not get on the park. Maybe you could get Nicky Del out of retirement for 2018?

Wells is quality when fit but are you going to see him at all in the first month or even longer?
Sounds like he rocked up to the club in pretty poor shape and who knows how long it will take to get over his calf injury.

Except Hogan plays at CHF and roams up the ground with Watts around the half forward line and Weideman inside 50.

He's not best 22, Cam Pedersen is better than him and he's depth at Melbourne.

All I want is to see him play good footy. He was always one of my favourites from opposition clubs to watch so it's a blessing to have him here for me to say the least. He did play 19 games last year which has me pretty optimistic he can stay healthy. If we can get 13 or 14 games out of him each year on average, I'll be alright. It was a plunge to make our midfield better than it already was; so I can't fault the club being gutsy. Opposition supporters can laugh but they'd be saying the same as me if he joined them. Fingers crossed he remains healthy.

We were young and still went ok. You have looked good, I think you could win 5 games although I haven't looked at your fixture and double ups. Fages will do wonders.
You have quality veterans offering leadership, though, such as Dale Morris and Matthew Boyd. Our oldest player is Stef Martin aged 30 and he is not at the same calibre leadership wise as those at the Dogs like Murphy, Boyd ect. Plus you look at the average age/games played of our best 22 each week this year and you'll see that it is significantly lower than the team the Dogs put out in 2016. The Dogs are a young side but not as young as the Lions.

Should be fixed now:

Now that's just plain wrong.

Anyway, I'm tired of filling up this thread with my trash so if you don't think White is best 22 then ok, it's all hypothetical since he doesn't even play for Melbourne. I just think he's much better than given credit for and his 2016 was half decent. Those who refer to him as a hack and so on are most likely coming from people who don't even watch Collingwood games.

No it's actually right, better mark and set shot than White.

That's fine if you have low standards but other people don't.
