Agreed.

Overall the difference between my 3rd and Rockford's second probably wont be much. It's a nice little upgrade though. Basically I swap 30 and my 3rd for Mullett and a later 3rd next year which is turning into a stacked draft for me.

Mullett is still only mid 20s and in a contract year. At best he will be a great stat winner, at worst he is probably done and I can cut him. I think he culd see some time up the ground and if North don't want him then there are a couple of teams who could use some outside pace as a DFA *cough*St Kilda*cough*

I'm still open to getting back into the draft if anyone want to talk ;)

So I now have the following in next year's draft -

1st round - LWP and Pez
2nd round - TW and Rockford
3rd round - Tutty and Rockford

Decent haul with a few options to play with there!

Trade Alert

Warriors receive:

Pick 30 (LWP) and LWP's future 3rd round pick

LWP receives:
Aaron Mullett, and Rockford's future 2nd and 3rd round picks.

L_W_P to confirm. Rockford, can you update the draft order?

My basic reasoning is that there are still a few kids I like on the table and I am prepared to give up a better pick next year to have a crack now.

Now that is out of the way i can go ahead and take my pick..

Just so I don't get this wrong I'm just swapping Pick 30 and Mullett in this draft?

I am curious why you think you should get pick 36 given the rules in place and tbe example last year with flaps?
What happened with Flaps exactly? Did he pick up on it after the pick has passed? Has the rule been made official and been posted in the rules and regulations post? If it has then all good, proceed as normal and I will wear it.

I may be wrong but I think flaps noticed before the start of the draft officially but after deadline.

That's correct. Richcogs also ended up with a pick at the end of that draft due to Jaensch's retirement.

It wasn't just the arbitrary deadline, it was that he noticed after all of the picks had been assigned in Ultimate Footy as per the thread. It's a very time consuming process to reassign picks after that initial setup.

I will leave the draft pick trade tracker alone till after the draft - at which point all the future draft picks become normal ones!

Im quietly keen for next year's draft already haha

Yeah i mean if anything it taught me a lesson and something i was happy to wear given i knew it was my own responsibility to check (like it is for all of us). Got on with it and played on (to a premiership :p ).

It is a bit like that at times isn't it.

I wonder about that often with certain guys I pickup. I know Parfitt would've slid a bit but how far and would he have been available at 35, or 24 which I traded into, had I taken Berry instead (who I considered best available at 15 but went with my Geelong player instead). Then I traded into 24 to get Fisher who I was surprised to see slide out of the top 20. Did anyone else rate him at all or could I have just grabbed him at 35? :D

Fisher was on my list for 30 and 31. That said there are still some good gets there IMO so he may have gone past me with who is left.

Parfitt we higher than fisher for me, Berry higher than both, all 3 inside my top 34

I think there is a lot more subjectivity in our picks given we have potential fantasy output to deal with in addition to anticipated player ceiling and team needs, whereas clubs only have the latter two to deal with. Plus we have less clue who our rivals are circling in on.

Makes for a lot more 'I can't believe player X was still available at my pick' situations, which is great!

*** LIVE TRADE ALERT ***

L_W_P receives:
Pick 35, 2018 Tutty Round 2 Pick, 2018 LWP Round 2 Pick

Raiders receives:
Tim Membrey

L_W_P to confirm

Confirmed.

I have a glut of forwards and Membrey was fetching a high price. Taking my Saints hat off he has had one good year and could have a harder time now that teams have seen his tricks. There will be more defensive pressure for sure.

Putting my Saints hat on I think he will be our leading goal kicker and jag 50+ for the season haha

I really wanted back into this draft. There are some options I plan to reach for that I think will have a great impact but getting those future picks is the real key here. Projecting forward the Tutty and LWP picks look to be top 20 next year which is a better than solid haul for Membrey's output to date. Next year is also flush with talls at both ends so I back myself to find a marking forward to replace Membrey pretty quickly.

I now have 2 first, FOUR second and 2 third rounders for the 2018 draft so I feel very happy with my overall position in the longer term.

Only 50? :)

I'm hopeful that Membrey can continue as he started with his production last season.. I think with Bruce and McCartin with him in that forward line I think he'll be able to maintain his averages (at least I hope so).

Snap call on pick 31 -

Darcy Cameron

Solid ruck/forward who looks like getting games early for the Swans. Handcuffs with Sinclair. With the way Boyd and Roughead exposed Naismith around the ground on GF day I expect Tippett to be the #1 ruck with one of Cameron/Sinclair playing forward and pinch hitting to keep the Swans more mobile on ball.

Thought he would be gone sooner given the dearth of playable rucks in this comp.

I've reached for Mutch. I wonder who you guys thought I was going to take. Logue is not my type of player. Few defenders I considered.

Can someone tell me why I don't have 3 picks in this draft. Pick 38 should be mine. I only had 42 players after I nominated my keepers. Cheers!
You've always had to delist players in the List Management thread since the very first season.

You'll be allocated a pick at the end of the draft if you do decide to delist Daniel Lloyd.
