Dropping a senior player to reserves for the kid isn't as much a slap in the face as is it a very clear sign that he has no future there, it would hurt. Peel thunder ruck coach is a future
Don't think peel thunder got the money to paid for a ruck coach . Kepler is the reserve coach for Claremont .

And Suban for midfield coach?

If he just retires, he doesn't have to play reserves. Or can just keep faking calf injuries

That's also an enormous looking Clancee Pearce as well for perspective.

Poor Clancee is one of those blokes that is just going to be a ****ing brick shithouse of an individual when he stops playing high level sport. Hope he plays WAFL next year.

Taberner rubbish again according to resident bigfooty Peel experts. Given BOG votes again by Peel.

Yes, let's rubbish those who actually go and watch games and instead find a "best players" list somewhere - that is bound to be more accurate. The one the WAFL posted had Collins BOG and Taberner as Peel's 5th.

For someone who doesn't even see Taberner play most weeks you are an incredibly strident fanboi.

Yes, lets. Because they continually provide inaccurate reports considerably coloured by their own biases. If you believed this forum he was terrible and "doesn't care" (direct quote). According to these muppets he hasn't played a good game for Peel all year despite Peel listing him in their best players week after week.

I'll take Peel's opinion that he was our 5th best player over theirs any day.

Living close enough to Peel to be able to watch their games doesn't magically endow a person with any kind of football knowledge, and the tools that rubbish Taberner each time he plays for Peel have proven time and time again that they aren't worth listening to.

Mate these guys are doing everyone on here a service by providing us with their views on the game. Yes, they may be opinion and have bias, but that's all part of a forum, so if you don't like it, simply ignore it.
By insulting these posters (especially ones with as much knowledge and passion for the club) as DudleyDocker, your ego gets a boost and everyone else on the site suffers the repercussions. I would not blame these guys if they chose not to report due to comments like yours, which would mean other posters like myself - who don't get time to get to most the peel games, would be left looking at a stats sheet and best list (as you have done) to determine who played well for us.
PS) these same "Muppets" have reported many good things about Tabs throughout the year, but there's also been many harsh calls, as you'd expect from an inconsistent player like tabs.... Being listed in the bests doesn't neccasarily mean he's played a game to the quality of an AFL KPF.

Why don't you go and watch a WAFL game and see if you agree with who they list in the bests? I'm almost certain it is some random (possibly a commentator?) that determines the bests for the WAFL site, not the clubs. Which would make sense given how the articles on Freo's website almost never describe who are the top performers each week the same way.

You seem to think the Peel watchers have some sort of bias against Tabs but you are way off the mark. I'd love for Tabs to step up and dominate - it'd be huge for our club but I'm also not going to pretend he has been great lately when he hasn't (he's not alone mind you). He may very well get a call up this week purely because our key forward cupboard is bare atm. If that happens I hope he takes the opportunity and locks his spot in the B22. But based on form I don't think he deserves it and only yesterday you were complaining about the fact Mayne was getting games not because of performance. So wouldn't that be a bit hypocritical?

OK, I'll make a final comment on this then move on because I'm sure everyone is heartily sick of it.

I am not biased against Matt Taberner, in fact in the past I have defended him vigorously. At one stage I posted a comparison between him and Josh Kennedy and at that stage in their careers they were quite comparable. Unfortunately since then Tabs has not come on and become the KPF we hoped he would be. We can blame that on lack of opportunity, rain, being Pav-centric - whatever the reasons the fact remains he has not really blossomed the way we all hoped he would.

He had every opportunity in the world last year to really cement himself in the team, but played 17 games for 18 goals which is just not good enough. If he is this positive force that will help us win games why did we lose so many last year with him in the team?

I will continue to report on training and Peel games as I see them, and I am happy to acknowledge that it is only my opinion and at times I will see things vastly differently to others. I don't claim to be reporting on fact, I am trying to give an opinion of a Freo supporter who is actually watching the game / training but happy for others to see things differently.

As far as bias, no I am not biased against Tabs but you are certainly biased FOR Tabs. I would dearly love for him to finally have a "breakout season" (NOT "breakout game") and become a valuable KPF for us because we are crying out for one. That doesn't mean I will pretend he is playing well when I don't believe he is, and if that offends you then please feel free to use the ignore button.

I love your training reports and reports from Peel. Please know they are appreciated and taken by me at least in the way they are intended.

Here's what you wrote about Taberner on the weekend:

Taberner is doing absolutely nothing to justify a call up. He is playing a terrible, soft, lazy and fumbly game. Most dangerous tall forward is Zac Dawson - yes, you read that right. His endeavour and hardness is a real contrast to Tabs.

This is despite Taberner having 17 disposals, 8 marks, 15 hitouts and 2 goals and being named in our top 5 players by Peel.

Feel free to believe you are not biased if you like, the fact is you are only seeing what you want to see.

So anyways... moving on....

I know a few don't rate Hughes but I do and I liked what Strnadica said about him:

Ethan Hughes led the Thunder with a team-high 26 disposals.

Luke Strnadica said Hughes’ leadership skills had really grown this season.

“He’s really vocal and has been helping out all the boys,” he said.

It's interesting because a few weeks ago (ahead of his debut) Luke Ryan said Ethan had had the most impact on him so far as well.

He makes some annoying mistakes but there is just something underlying about how he plays that I like and I always find the Peel defence so much better when he is down back. Pretty impressive to think he only started playing footy at 15. Would be really interested to see how we go with Weller, Blakely and Hughes down back, and Langdon and Deluca further forward. Was certainly a good draft year for us.

I am still not convinced on Ethan , I think this is all formality of an interview , just like how Cox said good thing about Collins when he debut .
