So we have Skinner and potentially Witherden out long term, opening up two spots for rookies. And comments above indicate Rueben will be side lined for half the season.

That is a bit concerning. He was supposed to be back running a couple of weeks before the draft.
Actually I should clarify my comment, I didn't see any hard running and most of that group were on the other oval, so he might be doing some laps. But mostly the rehab group was doing stationary exercises and core strength.

"It's in his blood"

“It’s in his blood. He’s a teacher by nature and a teacher by trade and that’s certainly what we’re seeing at the moment.”

These are the words of General Manager of Football David Noble reflecting on the impact of Senior Coach Chris Fagan.

Fagan joined the Lions in October following nine years at Hawthorn.

The 55-year-old had spent the past nine years as Hawthorn's football operations manager in what was a golden period for the club, yielding four premierships.

Noble told EON Sports Radio, the thing that has impressed him most and the players would have noticed is; “the pressure that Chris brings and the pressure he puts on himself - the strive for excellence.”

Noble noted the importance of the NAB AFL Women’s Competition, saying he was pleased with how the men’s and women’s teams have come together.

“There’s no doubt that they (the women’s team) complete you as a holistic Club. Our guys are really interested and have been down to training. Craig Starcevich (Lions Women’s Coach) comes out into the middle at our training with our coaches.

“The catchphrase of “All For One” is such a truism for us at the moment about banding everyone together and moving the club together holistically.”

The rehab group has been running in other sessions, so perhaps running was just not a major part of that one?

Got down to training sans the little one so could pay a bit more attention. Had a scratchy at the end. The thing that stood out was their use of hands. Seemed to know where each other were and used this to get out of trouble effectively. Kicking not so much, bit ordinary.

Players that I noticed were Keays seemed to get a heap and kicked a couple of goals. Jansen bobbed up all over the park and was a target up forward. Kicking at goal not so good. Squizzy was everywhere and did some nice things. Robbo was himself and kicked a good goal. McCluggage got a bit of and looked good though struggled a bit with the weighting of his kicking.

The teams seemed to be probably v the rest with a few changes.

I'm trying to be a more positive member of this board but it does get annoying having posters take pot shots at me daily.
You have some ground to make up.

I do agree though, as you're trying to make a better contribution you do deserve a break.

Did appreciate your training report the other day.

Do I? Please show me where I've demanded this and I'll eat my words. Otherwise quit trying to be inflammatory. I'm trying to be a more positive member of this board but it does get annoying having posters take pot shots at me daily.
The additional effort has been noticeable, at least from my perspective anyway:thumbsu:

Yeah I've enjoyed and have appreciated your training reports recently Leemas, especially considering I haven't been able to get down myself :thumbsu:

Quit trying to be inflammatory? Pretty rich coming from you.

As others have said, you have a lot of ground to make up. So months of being a dick is wiped for a weeks worth of useful contribution?
