I have us with four running distributors this year:

S Hill, D Pearce, T Sheridan, and C Sutcliffe

With the addition of B Hill and H Bennell, what changes in the sides make up?

IMO Sutcliffe has proven incapable of performing at a consistently high standard. Sheridan not much better. But others may think Pearce's papers are now stamped.

Or does someone else drop out?

Teams don't stick to that structure anymore. I had Kersten at CHF because I see him be a hard running lead up marking option around the wings/half forward.

I see the deep forwards being Apeness (stay at home, bringing ball to ground), McCarthy leading out (ie like JJK), Walters crumbing and Yarran doing a combination.
Well if thats the case i think you can add Kersten to your list of deep forwards. He has a deadly boot and is a great shot for goal. I think he will be much more damaging for us closer to goal.

I think Sheridan won a fair few suppoerters over towards the end of the year when he was given a tagging role and managed to dio a job and still hit the scoreboard a bit.

It's probably one tall short on the bench, but not too far off the mark for mine.

I like this line up. I think Danyle Pearce will start off the year in the team but will be really struggling to keep his spot come the end of the year. I also think that Crozier will be given first crack at HBF over Weller as Crozier finished the year so well in this position and was our designated kicker out of the backline. But still i really like the look of this team, plenty of flexibility to eb able to move lots of players from mid to back or mid to forward with lots of pace and skills.

B: Spurr, A.Pearce, Ibbo
HB: Weller, Hamling, Crozier
C: B.Hill, Fyfe, S.Hill
HF: Langdon, McCarthy, Bennell
F: Yarran, Apeness, Kersten

R: Sandilands, Mundy, Neale

I/C: Johnson, Sheridan, Blakely, Tucker

My early guess at it. Balic, Sutty, Barlow, Balla, Clarke, newbies could all make their way in.

Tough to pick a side. Would not be an easy job being a selector at all.

Walters didn't last long.

Damn it. Had him in, shuffled a few around, didn't put him back...

Walters to Langdons spot. Langdon takes Tuckers spot on the bench. For now...

FB - Tucker Hamling Johnson
HB - Mundy A.Pearce Crozier
C - Hill Neale Hill
HF - Bennell Kersten McCarthy
FF - Yarran Ape Walters
FOL - Sandi Fyfe Neale
INT - Blakely, Weller, Langdon, Tabs/Sheridan

Not sure How tall we'd choose to go if we land Kersten (similar type to McCarthy?)

I do think we could look at a 'tall' forward line with KPF
1) Tabs - True KPF
2) Kersten - 2nd tall
3) McCarthy - 3rd Tall.
Ape = Resting ruck.
Yarran would therefore play smaller with Walters.

I think this will only work if the 3 KPF's show versatility and an ability to play either on a wing or through the midfield (I do remember talk of McCarthy potentially turning into a big-bodied mid when he was drafted and believe Tabs could play a Riewoldt/Richardson type wing/forward role)

B Spurr A.Pearce Collins
HB Crozier Hamling Mundy

C Hill Blakely Hill
R Sandilands Fyfe Neale

HF Weller Bennell Walters
F Yarran Apeness McCarthy

INT Langdon, Sheridan, Taberner and Tucker.

Depth: Barlow, Clarke, Balic, Hughes, Kersten, Ibbotson, Sutcliffe, Griffin, Suban, Ballantyne, D.Pearce, Dawson and Silvagni

- Didn't include Johnson, don't trust him making it through the season / being fully fit for Round 1.
- Didn't include Pick #7, assume they would start tho'
- Don't see Kersten starting Round 1
- I would assume Taberner, Sheridan and Tucker's spot are all up for grabs for depth players, although we could be surprised by someone else falling off.

I have high hopes for Bennell but I don't think he'll be out centre half forward

I'm not sure why Spurr seems to be an automatic selection in most sides. I don't mind him and he's been a solid player. But do people realise he is 6 months older than Barlow? Some people seem resigned to shipping Barlow to Peel or another club, due to age and a stacked midfield. Why does this not apply to Spurr? He's older and we have a lot of options down back with the talls/interceptors and young distributors like Weller, Crozier and Tucker. Not to mention Sutcliffe/Sheridan, though maybe their ship has sailed as defenders.

assuming we get in Kersten, Hamling (or Adams in for Hamling or Collins depending on trade period) - don't see us getting both

B - Ibbo, Hamling (or Adams), Collins/Adams (depending on trade period)
HB - Crozier, Johnson, A. Pearce (expect johnson to play a floating role, with S. Hill/Mundy dropping back for rebounding)

C Hill, Mundy, Hill
R Sandi, Fyfe, Neale

HF Weller, Mccarthy, Bennell
F Yarran, Apeness, Walters

Bench - Blakely, Clarke, Langdon, Barlow

only round one team, i expect Kersten, Tabs, Hughes, Sutty, Pearce, Dawson, ballas etc to all get a run

Spurr is in the Leadership group and presumably the captain of the defensive cohort. But if Mundy plays more and more in defence, we'd have leadership covered.

Good side, the $4 currently on offer for Freo to make the 8 is massive overs IMO.

You're right and Spurr had a poor year, but we have far more options in Barlow's position than in Spurr's.

Only problem I see with this is that we need a cloning machine in order to get 2 Neales.

Not to mention Spurr is an exceedingly poor kick.

Pearce may compete with Ape as a Fwd/ruck to make way for Dawson and if Johnson goes down Pearce slots into HB and Dawson FB.

Top 4 considering our draw if injuries don't strike. All surgeries are done so we gave a full outfit for pre season
