As for our Crows friends claims of how much we're paying Motlop, I wonder if they could take us through the compensation system the AFL go by, because they would be the first people to have been shown it outside of AFL HQ.

We didn't match the crows' offer for Motlop because we didn't have to. Like Polec, Port was his club of choice all along. All we had to do was get somewhere in the ballpark. More than likely Geelong getting Pick 19 as compo was about the AFL ensuring Geelong had a pick capable of satisfying GCS to get Ablett home. The AFL want Ablett back in Geelong, and that became even more paramount after the recent events in his family situation.
