As 2017 winds down it's time to look back at the year that was on Bay 13. With Vesty now having won TOTY, it's time for the individual awards, beginning with the Toots Hibbert Medal.

Last year Benwah83 went B2B, though I think its safe to assume that this year a new MVP will be crowned. So will RedVest4 do a Dusty and sweep the awards? Will Packedlunch's amateur photoshops drag him across the line? Will perennial contenders Mofra or A Cut Above finally break through? Or to paraphrase craffles, will some 'other floggo' do a Richmond and surprise everyone? The count is as unpredictable as the 2017 season.

Votes come in a variety of ways, most commonly by mods giving a 3-2-1 each week of the season, with some bonus votes being handed out for things like the predictions competition, Spudcoach, etc. It's our equivalent to the Brownlow.

This year 61 posters polled votes in what was the most open season in recent memory. Good luck to everyone, and even if you don't poll, you can always sit back and enjoy KardiniaPark's annual melt/troll over both his own and Bosk's finishing positions.

Brain Power - Quieter year as his focus shifted from posting to smuggling baby formula to China. Still consistently appeared on the Flogcast and provided many jars of goo over moral Rising Star winner Ryan Burton.

Chappyuk - Only eligible for the 2nd half of the year due to modship, but did manage to still poll a few votes thanks to efforts like this underrated thread, and this one which trolled his own club in the OP, and caught a shitfish by post #2.

Stronzo - Polled all his votes in the first half of the year, trolling all comers (unsurprisingly West Coast were a favourite target), though perhaps his most notable effort came trolling an ex-Docker and the club who recruited him.

Lethality - A theme that will become apparent during this count is that without a dominant Oogac or Benwah hogging all the votes, accumulating many threads was a pretty solid way to poll this year, and Hodgepodge was no exception. What separates him from some of the flogs we'll see later though, is that he went at an efficiency much like Patrick Dangerfield's, so whilst there were some legitimate gems from him this year, I don't have all day to look for them amongst all the AFL-X and gambling threads.

I noticed a trend where ex-Bay13 mods seem to have trouble rising above mediocrity as posters afterwards. Mofra & Shawt are two exceptions but the rest are often shadows of their former selves. We should set up some kinda rehabilitation program so they can be 'released back into the wild' with more success.
