Oh, so Adelaide are willing to let a first- and second-round pick literally walk out the door because they are so bitter and twisted that they'd like to get their jollies off rather than recognising that they can at least get some value here?

Nope. If Melbourne want him then they have to pay the asking price . Nothing to do with being bitter and twisted. If another club offers better then the AFC is obligated to take it. Then in comes back on to the character of lever. If he's childish enough to refuse the deal, go to Brisbane just so the AFC doesn't get fair compensation thats on him.

As for the claims of rigging the b and f you us should do some research. Lever polled 1vote for us a the brownlow and finished 11th for our team. We finished top and had a lot of good players. Melbourne being willing to pay 900k to a player that can't get in our top 10 and poll only 1 brownlow vote is testament to that .

Still need to get lever to agree. If he goes to the draft Brisbane wont take him. He'll chuck a 1 million dollar price on his head and we'll front load his deal.

There are so many ways to manipulate it. Its how we got viney at 26

Brownlow is totally misleading because it is totally biased towards midfielder and votes are shared between both teams. If you really think he's the 11th best player in your team, that would explain why you gave him an initial offer of $3-400k, but it doesn't explain why you think he's worth 2 first round picks. It's inconsistent. Also, banning him from attending the B&F is bitter and twisted, you have to admit that.

Yes, I am sure Lever is going to do everything he can to make sure Adelaide gets extra compensation by going to another team after Adelaide has handled his departure so professionally.....LOL

Are you Brett Burton?

Maybe he just wants to, you know, agree to the contract that he already has with the Dees? Maybe he's already had negotiations with other clubs and they've either indicated they don't have the trade resources or they don't have the cap? Maybe Melbourne has a well-envisaged role for him that other clubs can't see?

Also, your Brownlow argument is dumb. You know who else got 1 vote? Brodie Smith. How highly do you rate him? He finished 8th in your B&F last night. Richard Douglas, who finished 5th, also polled 1 vote. Many players don't Brownlow poll as well as they should - just ask a key defender.

The reality is, Adelaide are poisoning negotiations with Melbourne because they're pissed at Lever for exercising his rights as an AFL player. Good luck with your small-minded nastiness of a football club. Can't wait to show up at AO in a Melbourne jumper with Lever's number on it next year while we spank you again on your deck.

What is it with Adelaide supporters being ridiculously stupid, and having their name in their bf username?
There's three majorly nuffie crows fans debating this. They all have it

Good. It will highlight the issue to the afl. And they will have to fix it.

Just for the uninformed the free agency is based on the NBA, the difference is with the NBA once team drafts you, you are stuck at that club for 7 years until free agency hits and you can do whatever you want. But for 7 years you're tied to the club that drafts you unless they want to move you on.

Obviously the aflpa wouldn't agree with that.

But what they need to do is introduce a transfer fee that the club can use in their salary cap to compensate . If someone wants to leave after 6 yrs then there's a 100k transfer fee, 5 yrs it's 200k, 4 yrs it's 300k, 3yrs it's 400k, 2 yrs it's 500k.

The top teams wouldn't be able to afford to do it because they would be struggling to keep the payers they already have and fit them in the salary cap, while the bottom teams could afford to do it,making them more competitive faster.

Free agency would then work the way it should.

Any reasonable person can see that is a better system long term regardless of this current deal and what you want the outcome to be.

And if they actually turned up last week and didn't choke, then they'd basically not care about this.

They're pissy they threw away a flag, and taking it out on lever

Maybe we just want to, you know, get fair compensation for a player that has no right to nominate a club at all.
He does have a right, just like you and I have the right to choose our employer.

Now you've said your piece. There's a thread on the D&T board and on the Adelaide board for you to talk about this.

Actually he has every right...
Or are you saying the afl/Adelaide are going to take legal action against him?

Which rule has he breached?

stop with logic. It's not allowed. You're only allowed to make rules based purely on emotion
Fans actually own players

He walks to the draft you get Jack, after being so childish to ban the person from the end of year count you deserve just that. What truth in the rumor that Charlie Cameron said up you Tex, I will not play for you. Keeps coming back to Tex Tex Tex.

He has every right to have a preference, but he doesn't have the right like a free agent. He can't nominate a club and we match it and he gets to choose. He has no right to walk to the club of his choice. You guys know that though .

No legal action required, what are you talking about?
If we get offered a better deal we are obligated to take it. If Jake doesn't want to sign the deal goes in to the draft.

In which case you guys might get him or might not . Brisbane have a fair bit of coin and could use him and Hodge together nicely.

Mod warning: Bugger off.
MFC poster warning: Don't quote him, the conversation ends here with mick.

I think the only thing that would top off this hissy fit is Adelaide sending him to the draft. Trading out everything to get pick 1 and picking lever just to spite him.
Scary thing is with how whingey they are it wouldn't surprise me

I’d like this over any old how. Crows club are a bit nutzo
