Didn't Sam Mclure say back in early February that Josh Kelly was very close to signing a new deal?? We are coming up to april and no news yet.

A few interesting names in the latest FA list. Aside from Fyfe and Dusty, I'd be interested Zaharakis, Motlop, Duryea or Pittard at the right price.

Good shout on Zaharakis. Strikes me as Essendon through and through, but would be a great wing option and would essentially replace the role Vince played for us in 14/15.
Yeah totally agree in that he would be a great fit for us, and also the fact he seems Essendon through and through.

Very inconsistent is Zacca but on his day is a gun, nearly single handedly won the game for the bombers against us back in 14 when Salem put us back in front with 30s to go

Was totally shut down last year once coaches figured out he can't handle a tagger (unfortunately we didn't figure this out in time). Do not want. I'm tired of recruiting mid-level Bombers anyhow.

Maybe yeah. There wasn't much there in Essendon last year so Zacca had zero protection.

Although in saying that I see he's a free agent so yeah I'd be happy to take him on decent money. He's more outside than inside which is what we need now. Could play Bernies role from 15'

I like him at his best but worry about his consistency. My other thing is that I would like to see Goody show that he has a range of ideas going forward, not just putting together a club of dudes with whom he has worked previously. Mind you, I guess that works both ways, in that he might have to prove himself as a coach before elite players are likely to come to Melbourne. But I really really don't want to just rebuild Bombers 2013/14. Jake is more than enough Essendon for me

700k isnt going to be that much after the new cba is done i reckon he is worth every cent of 700k 1 of the most damaging players in the AFL its what 250k more than we gave Melksham whats Hibberd on? i know we are in a better spot so dont need to give overs for shite but having hunt and JJ both bursting off half back or 1 on the wing and joining up like a ****ing Olympic relay team would be exciting as all shit

Interesting times. St Kilda are always crapping on about their war chest and being a team on the rise. You don't hear much from Melbourne about targets, but we're as much and (I think) more of an option to players who would consider a move then them. After all, when Lewis was looking at teams to approach, he didn't call up the Saints to talk, and they could really have used him. I think we're in a good place to approach trade targets.

If Eric Mackenzie is available would love to see us take a shot on him. If OMac and Frost haven't fully developed day end of next year, we will need a better 2nd tall defender to erase any complacency and encourage the boys to keep developing.
He hasn't been the same since he did his ACL a couple of years ago - has been in and out of the Eagles' team since then with his mobility an absolute liability. Just about to turn 29 too, so I doubt we'll be targeting him.
I do agree another key defender should be on our shopping list at season's end.

The thing with KPDs is there just aren't many around and we aren't the only ones shopping.
Richmond and Collingwood both are in a worse boat than us. But most sides are on similar ground in numbers if not quality.
Is Dunn available from Collingwood? He could be a handy back up at the right price.
