one is 186cm and the other is 178cm. 8cm is a fair gap in height.
Weight is might be similar but Hunter has the scope to put on a lot of weight on to his frame, where as fogerty at 75kgs is probably 5 kgs of being at his optimum weight.

Nice rounding 7cm if you want to be technical I know what you mean but it's hardly Caleb Daniel vs sandi

Obviously I have a few problems with certain players in the order haha. Eg. Coffield, balta, houlahan too low, kelly, L fogs too high. But the basic principle I think is what most teams employ on draft night. It’s very important to have players ranked in their respective positions. Then say at 21 the best mid is O’Brien and best tall was Allen you then just compare the best of each position and go well we prefer Allen over O’Brien, tall trumps and your decision is made.

You would take coffield with our first? Before who on my top 14 list? The reason some of them guys are ranked so low is because I either don't rate them at all (Hayes) or I don't think they fill a need as much as somebody else (even if they are technically rated better)

I think Allen will be an awesome third tall. Be great once Kennedy goes. But if a decent mid is available we have to take them.

I'm 184cm with a 191cm wingspan. Made it easy to outmark opponents of a similar height. You can tell that Allen's wingspan is a fair bit wider than 191cm. I think he is the perfect mix of attributes to be the highest tall forward up the field.

My ideal draft scenerio would be:

1: Rayner
2: LDU
3: Dow
4: Stephenson
5: Naughton
6: Coffield
7: Cerra
8: Bonar
9: Fogarty
10: Brayshaw
11: Higgins
12: Brander
13: Clark

Really hope Freo draft Naughton at pick 5 mostly for the melts on the freo board (Couldn't help myself voting for him on the Freo Poll :p) Also think the crows will go Tall with Brander as an ideal Lever replacement. There Midfield depth is quite good and have just added Bryce Gibbs. Brander could also end up at GWS and in that case Crows may look for that Cameron replacement in Higgins. Also worth noting that Betts is 31 next year so if he tapers off they would need some quality small forwards coming through.

I actually think a three tall forward line of Waterman, Darling and Allen could be pretty effective.

I'd prefer Clark or Higgins at our first but could live with Allen for that reason.

Given we would often have a resting ruck up forward it's not horrible.

I really don't care who we get with our first. In fact I kinda want us to take Allen, The anti hysteria on here is something else. I reckon he will be a jet.

I'm a bit more anxious about the 2nd round picks. Draft night can't come quick enough.
I agree, especially if Clark and Higgins are gone, which is a real possibility. At worst I think he will be a decent third tall- you would take that with pick 13.

Given how we have gambled on this years draft, there's a stack load more pressure on us to nail the 2nd round. Could be the making our our next few premierships if we get it right. (Look at Geelongs 1999 draft, for example. They had 7 picks in the first 50 but won the jackpot with the later picks in Enright/Ling & Chapman who all had excellent careers. )

My ideal draft in order for each pick. If we get Clark with our first my preference for Miers at 26 heightens but if we get Higgins it would go Worpal and then Kelly.

I think Petrucelle is a glass 1/10th full, could become an absolute gun in a full time footy environment. Starcevich I keep going hot and cold on, but the write up on footy prophet got me excited again. Think this absolute bullshit about Worpals kicking is wrong, most of those kicks are deep in congestion.

I also think we don't need to target talls early in the draft this year, we can next year with two 2nd round picks. Probably also get a first rounder if gaff leaves. Plus last two premierships have come from smaller sides with immense pressure and contested footy.

13 Higgins then Clark, 3rd.Constable
21 L.Fogarty, O'Brien, Bailey
26 Worpal, Miers, Kelly
32 Petrucelle, Moore, Starcevich
37 Starcevich, Ainsworth, Taylor
Late picks H Brayshaw, Sambono, Ryan
Scharenberg (In nominated)

Undersized forward, undersized mid with no contested game at all, hbf...

Well, at least it can't get more underwhelming than this when the real thing rolls around

"West Coast

Picks: 13, 21, 26, 32, 37, 69, 83

The Eagles’ key-position stocks are reasonably strong at either end, so expect them to target midfielders and flankers. An injection of leg-speed is needed, which should naturally occur after the retirements of Priddis and Mitchell, as is quality ball-users. Midfielder/Half-Forwards Hunter Clark and Jack Higgins will both be chances to land at the Eagles."

I don't mind the first two selections, but with that mix you simply couldn't go with Ling next.

Good old David Spriggs. The most famous bloke to play fewer than 70 games. At least from a tax practitioner's perspective anyway.

ugh in latest Road to the Draft podcast Twomey and Mick Ablett both have us taking Allen over Higgins in their mock. I'm already meltinggggg
Sounds like another Sheed moment where we have made our minds up already regardless of who might slide

If both of these guys think we will take Allen then it must be pretty well known.

Looking forward to the melts tbh

My melts will be large if Higgins slides and we draft Allen.

By then, I'll be rationalising it post hoc as a sound selection. I doubt I'll be alone in that, so hope you enjoy that too!

Wellingham playing at EP is not good for the development of our future mids... If he , Masten and probably Hutchings are playing in the centre for EP that doesn't help out our young mids coming through...

Dont worry Gerald, Hutch will be playing in the guts for West Coast so that wont stop any youngsters from getting a game at EP. :p
