Its more like In - my team's best 4 who I see are future stars.... which is enough for selection right?
Out - Anyone form a team i hate

The calls for Burton are the funniest. I mean guy is a great loose defender and intercept player. But lets see him strong it together and be a great 1 on 1 defender too

Whats even funnier than the delusions in this thread is your clear lack of football knowledge.....

Tom Rockliff trade value??
Pick 10-12 IMO. If we are set to get say band 2 or 3 from FA we will more likely than not match any contract bid and force a trade. He'll be a bargain for any club looking for a clearance winning, smart, calm inside mid. He hardly ever wastes a disposal or turn it over. Is also dangerous when rested forward as well.

That shoulder doesn't look crash hot.

The entirety of bigfooty hasn't yet worked out the difference between intercept defenders where 3 other accountable defenders hold the forwards out of the contest, and defenders who are capable of taking a mark but also shut down their man.

Burton has been great, I'm not saying he's a spud, but he hasn't shown nearly enough in all aspects of being a defender to be AA.

So attack my opinion all you want, but the offended form Hawks fans at anyone who disagrees is pretty funny.

Haha, The fact remains he has played 1 on 1 on the first or second forward through out the year. According to you the pre-requisite for a being a key defender is the ability to take marks one on one.....No, the pre-requisite for a key defender is stop your opponent getting the pill, by any means.
Its idiotic to suggest that the difference between an intercept player/loose player and a Key defender nullifying his opponent is the ability to take a mark 1 on 1.
LOL......if you don't mark the pill your key defender is now a loose defender or intercept player.

This thread is awesome....keep it coming. :):thumbsu:

Heard Melbourne might be into Andrew Gaff and wants to come home. Also heard Dean Kent might want to go home to WA. What else would we have to give to WCE to bring Gaff home?

If he wanted to come home so bad he probably would've done so last year when uncontracted rather than re signing.

not sure why'd he want to go to Vic. In WA you can go to the beach without losing a foot.

Whilst I think Burton is no chance to be AA he has definitely not being playing "loose" all year. I have seen him 1 on 1 several times including Tex. Does a lot of things right.

Is a quality player in the making and already pretty good.
Exactly my thoughts
+ just hit 5,000 posts :)
I spend too much time here :$:p:D

I think Gaff is worth a fair bit. One of the top few outside mids in the league.

If we let him go as an RFA next year we would get band 1 compo I think. Which would be maybe pick 5-10 at a guess. So we would be silly to trade him for less this year.

Dean Kent is pretty special though.

He can do everything Andrew Gaff can do at a fraction of the price and about 30 times worse.

Our first, next year's second and Dean Kent?

I think we would much prefer Gaff. But in terms of his trade value I'd say that's reasonable.

That's how it is with the player power these days. Open market bidding war he probably gets 2 first with one being very high but we only would have to give up about value. Same as if we had lost Hogan the other way
