He would comfortably be in Fremantle's back six.

Hypothetical three way trade:
Geelong: Jake Stringer
Richmond: Rhys Stanley + pick 20
Bulldogs: Pick 15

What are people's thoughts...maybe some late picks to balance things a bit better?

Richmond probably do that becauase naish is likely to get a bid in that range. Dogs probably prefer 20 and stanley to 15 though (although they will not like either) i suspect.

I still expect the dogs will ask for our 2018 1st rounder for stringer and that will be the trade + maybe some later pick swaps or upgrades.

I just thought Dogs wouldn't want Stanley because they have Boyd as the ruck/fwd option.

Depends if they use him forward or ruck (he is better at the latter IMO). They could use both but probably need a ruck more.

Johnson 33
Mundy 32
Spurr 30

Stratton 28

He's five years younger then Johnson and two years younger then Spurr. Fremantle don't have too many players who are in their prime.
None of the players you have mentioned will be apart of our next window, they're around to lead in the rebuilding phase. We don't want Stratton, go find someone who is competing next year to flog your old injured players to

Swap pick 42 instead of 32
That's an improvement. However Taberner would unlikely get a game and could be a DFA or swapped for a later pick. Balic for 42 perhaps. Although if Hawks don't see a future for Stratton then I guess they'd do it. But honestly unsure if they'd want Vickery and Taberner on the list.

Rhys Stanley - No thanks

We have Ben Griffiths who is almost identical in output playing VFL

Hypothetical trade

Fremantle receive
Ben Stratton + Hawthorn's 2017 pick 32

Hawthorn receive
Matthew Taberner + Harley Balic

Is that a fair deal?

This is one of those rare times where the poster's hypothetical sees his own team get robbed.
This is true and also has the amazing feature of being a fairly terrible deal for both parties. Stratton is indeed worth more than the other two combined on his own but has had recent injury concerns and is 28. Not only that but plays the one position we have decent quality and depth in. Taberner, although not Carey is far and away our best no1 KPF and we can't let him go unless we were bringing someone else in.

Hawks just get reamed period.

I suspect 2018 will be the last you see of both those players at AFL level. MIGHT eek our 1 more but that would be it.
Tippet to Freo for a first rounder.
This must be a joke. I wouldn't take him if you packaged him up with SYDNEY's first rounder for Suban... well for that deal I might.

Tippett is nothing but a liability to Sydney. Could they actually give him away with a draft pick to a team with cap space like North or StKilda in order to get him off their books?
Is a trade like Tippett and a second for a fourth or fifth legal?

The afl signed off our reaming of hawthorn for picks last year so you would think so!

Sydney's Current 2nd rounder is #31 and would probably blow out to #35/#36 with the compo picks etc

Cant see any club taking a salary cap dump for a pick in the mid 30's unless Sydney are really desperate and are prepared to trade their 1st rounder plus tippet for a later pick and fringe player
